The digital communication era has driven the development of China’s animation industry.Domestic animation has made great progress in terms of industrial scale and production technology.However,in general,the creation of animation works in China is still in the stage of imitation.The works do not form clear national characteristics,nor can they fully express the national cultural connotation,and thus do not achieve the goal of spreading national culture.This article sorts out the successful experiences of the early Chinese animation school and the misunderstanding of the development of domestic animation in the first decade of the new century.Based on this,taking the relatively representative original Chinese style cartoon“Chinese Choir” series of animation in recent years as an example,using case analysis and text analysis,from the perspective of semiotics and narratology,An analysis of the theme characteristics,theme characteristics,symbol use,and narrative techniques of the Choir series of animations,in an attempt to answer that “ under the requirements of the era of telling good Chinese stories ”,how to create an animation works that has distinctive Chinese characteristic and how to use animation products to “ tell Chinese stories well ” and enhance the soft power of Chinese culture.Finally,this article concludes that domestic cartoons should be close to the audience ’s psychology,select stories around them,and naturally infiltrate Chinese values ??and cultural connotations;creators should reshape their rigorous attitudes and accurately understand the core of the national culture.Hoping to provide countermeasures and inspirations for enhancing the cultural communication of animation products.
