A Study On Chinese Diaspora Society Since The Independence Of Myanmar

China and Myanmar shared common rivers and closed tie,have close historical contacts,and have the traditional friendship of camaraderie.Historically,since the special geographic advantages between China and Myanmar,the Chinese have long had the tradition of emigrating to Myanmar,which continues to nowadays.On January 4 of 1948,the independence of Myanmar.After Myanmar's independence,since the influence of internal and external policy factors,Chinese diaspora society has been recovered and developed.However,since the independence,the chinese diaspora society has transferred to a society of chinese Burman,which was backed by the establishment of the Sino-Mymmar diplomatic relations,the solution of "double nationality" of Chinese diaspora and the restrained emigration policy.In 1962,the Naiwen government came to power and carried out a series of extreme nationalist policies,the occurrence of anti-Chinese incidents and the collapse of Sino-Myanmar relations.The threaten to the identity among chinese diaspora exacerbated the pace of assimilation into the local country and laid a deep imprint on the changes of Chinese society.Since the 1980 s,the conciliation of the international situation,the adjustment of Myanmar's internal and external policies,and the resumption of friendly relations between China and Myanmar have provided favorable conditions for the reflourishing Chinese diaspora.In 2011,Myanmar proposed the foreign policy of balance among powers,and China-Myanmar relations took a major turn.Myanmar's populace anti-Chinese sentiment was rising.In order to maintain the long-term friendship and stable development of Sino-Myanmar relations,the improvement of China's international image and soft power in Myanmar depends on the public diplomacy of overseas Chinese in Myanmar.In addition,in recent years,the implementation of the "One Belt and One Road" initiative in Burma has urgently needed to play the role of geopolitical superiority of Burma,which is inseparable from the assistance of the Chinese and its Chinese businessmen.It is necessary to give full play to the role of Chinese as a communication and bridge between Chinaand Myanmar,and to better promote the development of peace and friendship between China and Myanmar.All the historical events in Mymmar affect the life trajectory of Chinese diaspora in Myanmar.This paper is mainly divided into four parts to discuss.The first chapter is a brief overview and historical review of the overseas Chinese society before Myanmar's independence,which lays a foundation for the study of the changes of the Chinese society after Myanmar's independence.The second chapter mainly discusses the restrictive policy of the Myanmar government on Chinese,the issue of "dual nationality" of overseas Chinese,and the living and development space of Chinese.Chapter three mainly discusses and analyses Naiwen's policy of suppressing Chinese people,the events of Chinese exclusion and the shrinkage of Chinese living space in Myanmar.Chapter IV mainly discusses the group status,social changes and characteristics of Chinese society since 1988,as well as the impact of Chinese on Sino-Myanmar relations and the future development trend.
