Research On The Relationship Between Intellectuals And The Burma Independence Movement

Myanmar national independence struggle went through the process from the beginning of the patriotic movement to the rise and development of modern nationalism, in which the modern Burmese intellectuals played a key role. As an elite group in the society, Myanmar intellectuals not only spread social and cultural values, but also carried out the innovation of social ideology. This article mainly discusses the reasons about the origin of the Burmese intellectuals, and later the relationship between intellectuals and national independence movement in Myanmar. Myanmar intellectuals take advantage of the“Buddhist Youth Association ”、“ I Burmese Association ” and other associations to publicize national liberation ideology, to organize the revolutionary movement.According to this study,It is believed that the bred、production、development and mature of the modern Burmese intellectuals and nationalist movement, largely made the invasion of the colonists as a precondition; Modern nationalist movement in Myanmar came with the imprint of Buddhism at every stage; Early Modern Intellectuals Myanmar promoted the development of the national movement, and eventually led the final victory of the Burmese struggle for national independence.Modern Intellectuals and the historical process of Burma can’t be separated. Under British colonial rule, intellectuals have their own unique personalities. Experiencing numerous setbacks and confusion, but playing a pioneering role in the anti-colonial struggle against the British in Burma,they have made a significant contribution in fighting for national independence.
