With globalization and the rapid development of relations between China and Ukraine,more and more Ukrainians are paying attention to China.More and more young people are interested in China and begin to study Chinese.At present,there are seven universities in Ukraine that offer Chinese majors.The Ukrainian Chinese studies are relatively young,also they are greatly influenced by Russian Chinese studies.Textbooks play a very important role in any teaching process,especially in second language teaching and foreign language teaching.Most of the Chinese textbooks currently used by Ukrainian universities are textbooks from Chinese or Russian publishers.The content of the textbook,including vocabulary,text topics,grammar and phonetic notes has some problems.These textbooks are published for English and Russian-speaking learners,as a result these textbooks are not fully satisfactory to the needs of Ukrainian learners.This paper analyzes the most widely used textbooks "Contemporary Chinese" and "New Practical Chinese Textbook" from the perspective of localization,points out the problems existing in these two textbooks,and proposes relevant improvement suggestions.
