In recent years, with the vigorous development of my country’s international promotion of Chinese, there are more and more Chinese learners in Japan. In order to better carry out overseas Chinese teaching, the call for nationalization and localization of foreign Chinese teaching materials is increasing, and related research has gradually attracted the attention of researchers and textbook editors.Although China and Japan are geographically similar and both use Chinese characters, there are many commonalities between cultures, but due to differences in languages, cultures, and ways of thinking, there is still a cultural gap between the two countries. This is also reflected in many aspects of textbook compilation.A comparative analysis of the localized Chinese textbooks published by the two countries will undoubtedly provide a practical reference for the compilation of the localized textbooks. This article starts from the perspective of localization, and selects two nationalized Chinese elementary textbooks for Japanese as the teaching target. They are "China-Japan Bridge Chinese" published in China and "In the First Grade" published in Japan. Both books are typical localized textbooks, each with its own characteristics, and both representative and comparable. This article will compare and analyze the two sets of textbooks, examine their writing principles, phonetic knowledge, text design, grammar arrangement, illustration drawing, cultural selection, exercise design and other aspects, and examine the localization characteristics of their compilation and the "profits and losses".Summarize, put forward suggestions for improvement, and explore the local characteristics of Japanese Chinese textbooks in order to provide references for the compilation of nationalized textbooks and international Chinese teaching.
