"Core literacy" refers to the most critical and essential character and key ability for individuals to realize themselves,live successfully and integrate into society in a certain period of time.It points to the new characteristics and needs of civic life,professional world and self-realization in the 21 st century information age.Its essence is to think deeply about what kind of people should be trained for the future.On September 13,2016,the general framework of "Chinese Students' Development Core Literacy" was officially released.The core quality of Chinese students' development refers to the essential character and key ability that students should possess to meet the needs of lifelong development and social development.With the publication of the general framework of "Chinese Students' Development Core Literacy",the goal of education is to focus on the cultivation of students' core qualities from the "double-base" and "three-dimensional" goals.The English Curriculum Standards for Senior High School(2017 edition)expresses the core competence of English as four dimensions: linguistic competence,cultural awareness,thinking quality and learning ability,which points out the direction of cultivating students' essential character and key competence in English.English reading teaching is an important part of language teaching.The exploration of reading teaching mainly analyses the problems and effective solutions in reading teaching from different angles.Starting from the background and significance of the improvement of English teachers' reading instructional design ability,this study explores the definition,connotation and constituent elements of core literacy and core literacy of English disciplines through combing the research on core literacy at home and abroad.Through combing literature,questionnaires and typical cases,this paper analyses the problems existing in reading teaching and reading instructional design.Based on the connotation of core literacy,core literacy of English subject and teaching design,starting from the actual needs of students,this paper probes deeply into the objectives,strategies and methods of reading teaching,combines core literacy of English subject with reading teaching design,and puts forward how to improve thereading teaching design ability of English teachers and optimize the design strategy of reading teaching.This study actively advocates starting from improving teachers' reading teaching design ability,through careful classroom teaching design,focusing on the cultivation of students' reading ability and improving their reading character in the classroom teaching oriented to core discipline literacy,so as to promote the formation of students' core literacy and enable students to achieve all-round development.The research on the improvement of English teachers' reading instructional design ability proposed in this study is based on the perspective of "subject core literacy",and puts forward solutions from the level of thought,mechanism and method,especially at the practical level,aiming at the problems existing in teachers' teaching design,this paper puts forward strategies for improving English teachers ‘reading instructional design ability,that is,through "text-based,note-based",focus on the integrity and relevance of instructional design to cultivate students' language competence;take culture as the medium,pay attention to the differences and communication of instructional design to cultivate students' cultural awareness;take activities as the carrier,pay attention to the inspiration and hierarchy of instructional design to cultivate students' thinking quality take strategy as the direction,pay attention to the guidance and effectiveness of instructional design to cultivate students' learning.The four strategies of "learning ability" instruct teachers how to improve their reading teaching design ability and how to carry out effective teaching design.The implementation of the above strategies will greatly optimize the teaching design of English reading,enhance the professional quality of teachers,help to build a high level of English teachers,improve the quality of English teaching,and will guide and promote English reading teaching to a certain extent,which has certain theoretical and practical significance.
