Abstract/Summary:
The college entrance examination,which isthe national unified examination for entering ordinary colleges and universities,and it is the most influential selection examination at present.The results of the reading comprehension test in the college entrance examination take up about more than one third of the total scores,so it is said that the students’ reading comprehension scores play an important role in the whole English examination.English reading ability is an important skill for students to learn English and it’s also an effective way to understand foreign culture and enhance international understanding.To cultivate reading ability is regarded as an important teaching goal on the basic education stage in our country.Because reading ability can reflect the students’ comprehensive use of English vocabulary,grammar,and the ability to understand other culture knowledge.From knowledge education to ability education,to improve the discipline core quality has become the main trend of today’s education.The edition of the English Curriculum Standard for Senior High School which has identified four core qualities,such as language ability,cultural consciousness,thinking quality and learning ability.As a language learner,English learning should also cultivate students’ thinking quality,cultural consciousness and learning ability,and improve students’ English literacy.This thesis analyzed the last three years(2017-2019)college entrance examination in reading comprehension part.according to the 2017 edition of the English Curriculum Standard for Senior High School,which explore the development trend of English core literacy in the college entrance examination reading proposition in the past five years,starting from the perspective that test validity has influences on learning strategies,so that we should put forward the corresponding learning strategies to improve students’ learning efficiency.This study focuses on two questions: 1.How does English reading comprehension of the college entrance examination reflect the core literacy? Second,how can the analysis guide the teaching of English reading and promote the cultivation of students’ subject core literacy?Through the research on the reading comprehension of the college entrance examination in 2017-2019,it is found that the proportion of expository is greater than narrative and applied reading.The topics are mainly about: human,nature and society.The proportion of questions of detail is greater than questions of inference and questions of main idea.The research shows that the examination of language ability is reflected in the use of knowledge,strategies,and participation in topic activities.The examination of cultural character is reflected in the knowledge and ability of cross-cultural communication.The examination of thinking quality is reflected in the students’ ability of generalization,logical thinking,divergent thinking and critical thinking.The assessment of learning ability reflects the active use and adaptation of English learning strategies,the acquisition,processing and use of information,and the analysis and solution of practical problems.Then,according to the positive effect of testing on teaching,some suggestions are put forward for teaching of English reading.We need toconstruct a complete discourse and develop languageability.We should pay attention to the integration of multi-cultural knowledge and the cultivation of cultural character;we also need to carryout multi-thinking activities and cultivate thinking quality;and thus students’ initiative is stimulatedand their learning ability is cultivated.
