In 2014,the Ministry of Education issued Opinions on Comprehensively Deepening Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Task of Cultivating Virtues and Educating People,which clearly put forward the key concept of "core literacy system" for the first time.In 2021,the Opinions on Further Reducing the Homework Burden and Off-campus Training Burden of Students in Compulsory Education(hereinafter referred to as the Opinions)were issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and The State Council.Reducing the homework burden of students in compulsory education stage has been clearly put forward and point out more clear requirements on the amount and time of students’ homework.In order to respond to the new requirements of national education policy for homework burden,it is imperative to optimize the strategy of homework design.In addition,the English Curriculum Standard(2022 edition)was officially promulgated last year.Many frontline teachers and experts are most concerned about how to put the concept of "new curriculum standard" into practical teaching,especially the necessary homework design in teaching.The promulgation of the "new curriculum standard" indicates that the goal of English curriculum gradually shifts from "comprehensive language application ability" to "core literacy oriented".Homework design is an indispensable part of teaching,so homework design also needs to be core literacy oriented.English is a compulsory language subject for students in the stage of compulsory education,and the junior high school is also a key period for the cultivation of core literacy.Under these various backgrounds and the requirements of The Times,junior high school English teachers,as the key force to promote the cultivation of core literacy of English subject,need to overcome some existing test-oriented education drawbacks and promote the implementation of core literacy of English subject in junior high school English homework design.Some scholars in our country have subdivided and optimized the content of the core literacy of English disciplines based on the relevant characteristics of English disciplines and the requirements of the core literacy.How to further cultivate students’ core literacy and ability in junior middle school English homework design has become a topic of concern for some scholars and the public.Centering on the theme of "Research on the Current situation and Optimization Strategies of Junior High School English Homework Design from the perspective of Core Literacy",this paper mainly try to study three problems:1.What are the problems in the current status of junior high school English homework design?2.What are the reasons for these problems?3.From the perspective of subject core literacy,how to optimize the design of different types of junior high school English homework that meet the core literacy goals and requirements of English subjects? What are the cases for different job types?Based on the theory of input-output hypothesis theory,multiple-intelligence theory and the area of proximal development theory,this study explores and analyzes the current situation of junior high school English homework design from four dimensions of English subject core literacy by means of questionnaire,interview and homework text analysis.Under the guidance of the core literacy goal of English subjects,through further data analysis and collation,this paper explores the existing problems in junior high school English homework design.On this basis,the author try to find the reasons of these problems in homework design and implementation,and then puts forward optimization strategies for junior high school English homework design from the perspective of core literacy of English subjects.Moreover,different cases of junior middle school English homework design are given to meet the needs of the development of students’ English subject core literacy ability and the professional development of teachers’ homework design ability.
