| The term "core literacy" was coined in 2017 and has resonated with educators everywhere.English curriculum reform,one of which is to develop the core literacy of students.To develop students’ core competencies requires the adoption of an important tool: The textbook.Compulsory High School English textbooks were published in 2019 and are not yet in use in some areas.To what extent does the revision of new textbooks and the arrangement of their contents reflect core literacy? It’s worth exploring.This study starts from four aspects of the core literacy,according to the principles of the compilation of teaching materials,analysis methods under the guidance of the framework of activity theory,the People’s Education Press High School compulsory first volume of teaching materials.The main research questions are:(1)to what extent does the new textbook embody the core literacy in the design of reading activities,and in what places?(2)What strategies can teachers take to make full use of teaching materials to cultivate students’ English literacy? In view of the above problems,the author analyzes the Problem distribution of the teaching materials and the setting of the reading plate contents of each unit,and at the same time carries on the teaching design of a certain unit,through the teaching case design analysis teachers should use the strategy,and summarize the analysis results.The results show that the distribution of core literacy in the reading section is not very uniform,and more emphasis is put on the interpretation of the text and the mining of deep meaning.They are more widely distributed in thinking quality,cultural awareness and language ability,but less in learning ability.Therefore,teachers need to design more appropriate teaching activities to achieve the corresponding teaching objectives.Teachers should also choose appropriate strategies for instructional design,such as group discussion,module screening,role-playing,oral practice and other ways to promote students’ interest in learning.Based on the above analysis results,in order to better enable teachers to adopt appropriate teaching strategies to cultivate students’ core literacy,this paper holds that teachers should be familiar with the basic content of teaching materials and choose appropriate teaching content,make full use of the classroom activities provided in the textbook,observe students’ performance in and out of class as much as possible,and increase or decrease teaching topics according to students’ interests and hobbies,in order to promote students from all aspects of critical thinking and learning ability. |
