Report On SPC User's Booklet Translation

SPC User's Booklet is a statistical process control tool based on math and statistics.It analyses and evaluates the production process,reducing the risk according to feedback,thus to achieve its goal of quality control.This report mainly focuses on how to translate user's booklet,and it is also about translation principles and strategies for user's booklet translation.It takes computer SPC user's booklet as an example to show how to make the target text(TT)acceptable to the target readers.This report firstly introduces the background,goal,and significance of the translation project;the second part is about the translation process;the third part analyses the linguistic characteristics in the source text(ST)and provides with translation principles and strategies according to the characteristics of the ST.User's booklet resembles scientific and technological words with many command language,hence we can add subject to each sentence when there is none.Since some words are usually repeated,we can use coalition to combine the words with the same meaning so that the translation can be more concrete.We can use combination because the sentence structure is often scattered.Communicative translation as the core strategy directs the translation.The case study part introduces how to translate the ST with some skills and what's more,there is a further analysis about why the skills are employed.Next is an assessment from others about the translation quality.The last part is conclusion.
