The Translation Report Of Unifi Video User Guide Under The Combination Of Computer Aided Translation And Machine Translation

In the era of globalization and information,various forms of translation serve as the prerequisite for the smooth flow of massive information among countries.This paper analyses the translation of Unifi Video User Guide,a translation task received from Ubiquiti Networks during the writer's internship at Shanghai Yingtong Translation Service Co.,Ltd.in 2018.In view of the textual characteristics of user guides,the writer should not only ensure the professionalism of the translated text,but also take readability into account.Beyond that,a large number of illustrations remain to be typeset.Considering the limited time and heavy task,the writer,in virtue of learned translation technologies and experience,finally employs an efficient and high-quality translation solution,namely,combining machine translation,computer-aided translation with post-editing,to ensure the smooth completion of translation.This translation report is divided into four chapters.Chapter one is the description of the translation project.Chapter two describes the sketch of the translation processes.Chapter three is the core of this report.Through practical translation examples,typical errors made by machine translation are summarized and corresponding post-editing strategies analyzed from levels like the punctuation,vocabulary,syntax and style.Chapter four is a summary of this translation report.It is hoped that this report will be helpful to translators engaged in similar translations.
