"Comparative sentences" is a structure with a very high frequency of Ch inese usage.It is a key learning item in the teaching of Chinese as a second language as well as a difficult one.Therefore,many foreign students,espec ially Korean students,often make mistakes in the use of comparative sentence s,especially in the use of their negative forms.The purpose of this paper i s to study the acquisition of "negative forms of comparative sentences" by K orean studentsThe significance of this study lies in the fact that through questionnair e surveys and related corpora surveys,Korean students are found to have prob lems in understanding and using the negative forms of Chinese comparative sen tences,so as to make suggestions about comparative teachings for Korean lear ners and related teaching materials,and help Korean learners reduce errors i n their use and learn more effectively.Studies have shown that there are subtle differences among the negative f orms of Chinese comparative sentences,which are also very complex.However,in the field of Chinese language teaching at present,the study of the acquis ition of "negative form of comparative sentence" is not as important as the affirmative form of it.The research results are relatively few,especially t hose for Korean students who use "negative form of comparative sentence".This paper selects four "negative forms of comparative sentences" as the objects of investigation,including "mei you" sentences,"bu bi" sentence s,"bu ru" sentences and "bu yi yang" sentences.These four negative forms all have their own characteristics.This paper will examine the ability of S outh Korean students to discriminate and grasp the negative forms of the four comparative sentences in terms of syntax,semantics,and pragmatics.This pa per uses two kinds of data.The first part of the corpus comes from a self-de signed test questionnaire,which includes four aspects:the ability to discri minate between different negative forms,the ability to understand sentences,the ability to judge errors,and the ability to make sentences.The second p art of the corpus is from the dynamic composition corpus of Beijing Language and Culture University.It is an example of a negative case of a comparative sentence used by Korean students.Firstly,this paper analyzes the data of corpus and examines the acquisit ion of negative forms of comparative sentences by Korean students at differen t stages.Then it compares and analyzes the differences between students at d ifferent stages.On the basis of quantitative analysis,this paper also condu cts a qualitative analysis,and divides the errors that appear when South Kor ean students use "negative forms of comparative sentences" into five types:the reverse of the order of the comparative terms,the addition error of degr ee adverbs,and the misuse of negative forms,the misuse of words,as well as miscellaneous sentences.This study finds that for students at the intermediate and advanced level s,the "bu yi yang" sentences and the "mei you" sentences are two negative forms that are easier to grasp.Therefore,there is little difference in the correct rate between middle-level and high-level students.However,the "bu ru" sentences and the "bu bi" sentences are more complex in grammar.For th e intermediate level students,the negative forms of these two comparative se ntences have certain difficulties in understanding.Therefore,the difference s in the correct rates of intermediate and advanced students are relatively 1 arge.Among the five types of errors,"addition error of degree adverbs" is the mistakes that many South Korean students may easily make because of the n egative transfer of their mother tongue.In order to help Korean students to reduce the same mistakes,this paper puts forward suggestions for the acquisition of the "negative forms of compar ative sentences" in three aspects:textbook preparation methods,student’s le arning methods,and teacher’ s teaching methods.After investigation,statistics,analysis and comparative research,this paper describes the acquisition of negative forms of comparative sentences by Korean intermediate and advanced students.However,this study still has cer tain deficiencies.In addition to the negative forms of the four comparative sentences mentioned in the paper,there are other negative forms of comparati ve sentences,but this paper does not cover them all due to the limitation of the paper length.Besides,the research objects are only divided into two le vels:intermediate and advanced.In addition,there is less information about the "negative form of comparative sentence" collected from the HSK dynamic composition corpus.However,there is still a lack of research on Korean stud ents’ acquisition of the Chinese "negative form of comparative sentences".I hope this paper can make up for this vacancy and provide some valuable refer ences for Chinese teachers and Korean Chinese learners in this area.
