A Report On The Translation Of Corrosion In Systems For Storage And Transportation Of Petroleum Products And Biofuels: Identification, Monitoring And Solutions (Excerpts)

This thesis is in the form of translation report.The original text is taken from Chapter Six and Chapter Seven of the book Corrosion in Systems for Storage and Transportation of Petroleum Products and Biofuels : Identification,Monitoring and Solutions.The excerpts mainly introduce the polymeric materials and corrosion prevention control technology.Therefore,the translation of the material has remarkable social significance in the development of petroleum industry and further improves the oil energy position in China.This report consists of four parts: task description,process description,case analysis and conclusion.In task description,the author analyzes and introduces the significance of the translation practice and key problems.In process description,pre-translation preparations and translation process are introduced.In case analysis,the translator attempts to apply the Text Typology Theory as a theoretical guidance in the translation and discusses the translation problems about terminology,nomilization,passive voice,long and complex sentences and logical analysis.Finally,the translator summarizes the task and the translation practice.Through this translation practice,the author has a better command of translation principles and methods.Further researches have been done and new ideas are acquired for scientific and technical English translation.The author hopes that this report can provide some references to those who engage in technical translation and study.
