A Report On The E-C Translation Of Building An Information Technology Industry In China

This is a translation report based on the cooperation project between Guilin Research Center for Government Digit Dissemination and Culture as a Soft Power and College of Foreign Studies of Guangxi Normal University.The author's task is to translate the source text.With the rapid development of information technology,the development of IT industry in various countries is not balanced.As a big country,China's comprehensive national strength is constantly improving,the IT industry is developing rapidly,and its international status is rising.This will inevitably cause concern for the IT industry power,the United States.The translation of the IT industry has certain strategic significance and deserves more attention from the academic community.Based on this,the author selected a text——“Building an Information Technology Industry in China”(the source text is from the Center for Strategic and International Studies in the United States).The text is mainly about the US perception of the Chinese computer industry in a specific historical context,the views and attitudes on the state and policy of China's IT industry,and the assessment of China's IT competitiveness.This translation practice report is based on the framework of “Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation”.It is mainly divided into two parts.The first part is the main body of the report.The author analyzed the text characteristics and translation of the selected text.The second part is the translation materials and their translations in Appendix.The author translated the selected text into Chinese by means of translation tools such as a paper dictionary,web and so on.The author hopes that through this sci-tech translation task,on the one hand,it can improve his translation skills,better grasp the characteristics of scientific andtechnological information texts,and master the translation methods of scientific and technological information texts;on the other hand,hope that it can provide reference to relevant personnel to some extent.
