Language and culture are linked closely.English courses should combine language and culture learning in teaching to cultivate students' cultural awareness.Under the background of internationalization of education,according to "High School English Curriculum Standards"(2017),it emphasizes that we need to cultivate students' cultural awareness,especially the cultural awareness of the country.We must let students enhance their national identity and family feelings,strengthen their cultural self-confidence,and let students have the ability to spread Chinese culture.Content and methods of cultural teaching can no longer meet the needs of the times,national development and realistic teaching activities,so cultural teaching need change.As textbook is the most directly learning material for learners,so textbook plays a key role in cultivating learners' cultural awareness,especially the part of the national culture.The main research object is the high school English textbook published by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press,and analyzes the Chinese cultural elements in the textbook.Through analyzing Chinese cultural elements in the textbooks,it can know whether the teaching materials can meet the requirements of cultivating students' cultural awareness according to the new curriculum standards.It can be seen that the selection and integration of cultural content Foreign research version of high school English teaching textbooks is closely related to the educational environment and domestic curriculum reform.This paper is made up of five parts: the first part is the introduction,including the research background,research purpose and significance,research methods and paper structure.The second part is the literature review,which mainly includes the study of cross-cultural communication theory,foreign language curriculum organization theory and foreign language teaching theory,as well as domestic and foreign research on culture,intercultural communication,cultural teaching and teaching materials.The third part is the analysis of the cultural elements of the foreign language English teaching materials,including the statistics of the cultural types in the textbooks,the statistics of Chinese and Western cultures,and the distribution and analysis of Chinese culture in the textbooks.Thefourth part is the compilation and analysis of the empirical research design and research data of this thesis.Through questionnaires,interviews and classroom observations,we can understand and discover the problems in the Chinese culture part of the textbook and the cultivation of students' cultural awareness.The fifth part is conclusions and recommendations.This study summarizes the research conclusions and gives reasonable suggestions for the cultivation of Chinese cultural awareness based on the conclusions.To sum up,for the problems that arise in the textbooks through the analysis and research,the textbook writers,teachers and students have made relevant suggestions for the purpose of cultivating students' cultural awareness.Textbook writers should appropriately increase native cultural materials.In the input and output cultural knowledge section,textbook writers also should balance the proportion of mother tongue culture and target language culture;teachers should pay attention to the teaching of our native culture in foreign language teaching;Students should establish correct cultural values and actively practice for promoting Chinese culture out.
