With the rapid development of globalization,cultural teaching is becoming more and more important.Cultural awareness refers to the understanding and identification of Chinese and foreign cultures,which helps to enhance students? national identity and cultural self-confidence.Therefore,it is necessary and feasible to integrate Chinese culture into English teaching in senior high school in a bid to the intercultural communication ability of learners.In recent years,there are many related researches while high school students and related researches are less focused.Therefore,this study selects 180 senior students and 48 English teachers as the research subjects.Taking questionnaire,classroom observation and interview as the research tools,then uses SPSS.20.0 to analyze the data to discovery the current situation of the integration of Chinese culture in senior high school English teaching,and puts forward corresponding teaching suggestions.Based on the Transfer Theory and Cultural Input Hypothesis,this study focuses on the following three research questions: first,what attitudes do teachers and students hold towards the integration of Chinese culture in English teaching.Secondly,what is the proportion of reading texts that related to Chinese culture content in textbooks? Finally,what is the current situation of the integration of Chinese culture in teaching process? The main findings are as follows:The integration of Chinese culture in English teaching needs to be improved.Senior high school students and teachers support integrating Chinese culture into English teaching.They are generally aware of the importance of Chinese culture in senior high school English teaching and learning.The current situation analysis results are mainly from English textbooks and teaching practice analyses.Generally speaking,the current situation of Chinese culture integration is not optimistic.Through the analysis of the reading texts,it can be seen that the proportion of texts involving Chinese culture content is relatively reasonable,but there are problems such as uneven distribution,scattered presentation and incomplete content.Besides,the integration of Chinese culture in teaching practice has the problems of uneven distribution of class types and incomplete content.For the integration of Chinese culture in English teaching,teachers have not yet explored a suitable and efficient way.The following teaching enlightenments are proposed: for teachers,they should change the existing teaching concept,pay attention to the self-cultivation,and constantly store electricity for themselves;textbook compliers should balance the proportion of Chinese culture in each book,and content selection should be more timely and comprehensive.For school administrators,they should optimize the current class division system to create favorable conditions for the smooth integration of Chinese culture in English teaching.Students should set up a long-term vision and realize the significance of Chinese culture for their future development.
