| As a branch of literary translation,studies on children’s literature translation should be highly regarded.At present,as our country’s the Belt and Road Initiative promotes connections among different countries most widely,the cultural exchanges have enjoyed an unprecedented prosperity.Being a key part of cultural exchanges.children’s literature plays a quite active role,so the children’s literature translation.either from Chinese to other languages or the other way around,is critically demanding as well as promising.From the statistical data on children’s literature pages of two large bookseller’s websites in China(Dangdang.com and Amazon).we can see that a large number of children’s books have been translated into Chinese from other languages,particularly English.This is why a high-quality translation of a children’s book is important to children’s reading experience in our country.This report takes itself into the theoretical framework of the Reception Aesthetics With Chapter 39 to 49 of The Ice Sea Pirate as samples,this report analyzes the strategies and methods that have been employed into the translating process linguistically and culturally.In the translation.the translator/author has imagined herself as a child reader in order to choose proper children’s wording,using simpler and more spoken words to make it more readable to children.Meanwhile,the translator/author has paid close attention to the detail descriptions of characters and atmosphere from children’s viewpoints as the original book does.As for dealing with the cultural translation,the translator/author lets it be the parts of the western cultures that are easy to understand and accept for Chinese children,and for the words containing cultural factors.the translator/author has made elaborate notes and explanations.While for the difficult parts of the western culture in the original book.the translator/author has employed free translation skills to keep the children readers from getting confused.So it can help the children readers to broaden their cultural vision and improve their reading comprehension as wellIn the whole,this report has analyzed typical examples to illustrate problems occurred in and lessons learned from this translation.From these analyses,the report has summed up and then refined the strategies and tactics and avoidable problems in translating children’s literature as far as the Reception Aesthetic theory is concerned This report aims to offer some help for other translators who translate similar children’s literary books and to make the Reception Aesthetics theory integrate into the theory of children’s literature translation.so that the translation of children’s literature in our country can be improved and elevated to a satisfying level. |
