Study On Disaster Relief And Post-disaster Reconstruction Of Haiyuan Earthquake In 1920

The Haiyuan earthquake of 1920 had a serious impact on the Gansu region at that time,especially on the east of Gansu.The earthquake hit the population and economic development hard,causing changes in the population and the urban and rural population structure of the region,thus affecting economic development.Especially the destruction of rural economy is an important reason for the decline of rural development.The earthquake also had a certain impact on the political situation in Gansu.After the earthquake,all the forces involved in the disaster relief in various ways,the official and civilian forces have played a certain role in the disaster relief activities,foreign forces can not be ignored disaster relief power.As far as the disaster relief effect is concerned,with the participation of all parties,the society in the disaster area has undergone a short process of rehabilitation and reconstruction,but the ensuing disasters,such as the war and bandit drought,have hit the disaster area again.In 1920 s,the famine in Northwest China happened again,which made the society more turbulent and people’s life more difficult.This paper mainly discusses the earthquake relief and social reconstruction after Haiyuan earthquake,and analyzes the social impact,disaster relief activities and effects,and the process of social recovery and reconstruction after the earthquake.
