Research On The Evolution Of "Disaster" And "Famine" In Haiyuan Earthquake In 1920

On December 16 in 1920,there was a earthquake with huge destructive power had taken place in haiyuan in Gansu province.With its huge destructive power to the east of gansu,southern counties has brought unprecedented loss.Earthquakes,as a natural disaster,occur in different periods,in different regions,and the damage is different.However,haiyuan earthquake under the comprehensive effect of various factors not only caused the death,livestock population pressure,damaged roads,houses and other sudden disaster damage directly,and internally displaced people in disaster areas spawned,economic dislocation,bandits,smoke poison flooding and a series of social problems.Therefore,the haiyuan earthquake is not only a natural variation,but also a response to natural variation in the relationship between man and society.Earthquake hazard is serious,in addition to the fragile natural environment,soil low viscosity of natural factors,but also because of the low social organization ability,backward economy,the government in the face of disaster is not as outstanding as well as a variety of social contradictions,which not only cannot implement in time after the earthquake relief,also cannot be effective arrangement of post-disaster reconstruction,as a result,the earthquake damage not only failed to weaken or eliminate in a short period of time,and the worsening and to the people in the disaster area in a difficult situation for a long time,finally makes a simple natural disasters become social disaster.Conclusion:the extent of the destruction of the disaster depends greatly on the response strategy and implementation of the disaster in human society.A political corruption,economic dislocation,all kinds of contradiction in society,can’t resist natural disasters,and after the disaster,the harm of social contradictions will aggravate disaster,bring the disaster area secondary damage.Disaster is a product of natural disasters,disasters occur from natural disasters,and the spread of famine is more caused by human disaster.So to haiyuan earthquake happened early of the republic of China as the center,to talk about for the "disaster" to "shortage" of various factors,will help to inspire us further from famine in this Angle to see early of the republic of China political,economic,social and other aspects,help us understand the early stage of the modernization transformation of the various causes of imbalance between man and nature.
