Because of the lack of oral tests in the entrance examination for senior high school,oral English teaching has always been ignored in junior high school.With the development of internationalization,the role of oral English proves to be more and more important.On the other side,the new English Curriculum Standard proposes higher requirement on oral English teaching in junior high school.Oral tests have been added to the entrance examination in several cities.It's urgent to improve oral English in junior high school.The traditional oral English teaching methods focus on repeating and reciting the context which turns out to be of low efficiency.Meanwhile,mobile terminal APP provides multiple kinds of materials and training modes for oral English learners.With the assistance of APP,learners are able to practice oral English in a more flexible and scientific way-the specialized learning and reasonable evaluation are available whenever and wherever they are which makes the APP aided oral English teaching attractive and popular.The analysis of the individual and the whole learning conditions will be sent to the teachers instantly to help with the design and application of oral English teaching plan objectively.This paper puts forward suggestions on the application of mobile terminal APP in oral English teaching in junior high school based on the functions and features of APP which is concerned with oral English and investigates the advantages of the APP aided oral English teaching by the means of a control experiment.The investigation of the current situation of oral English teaching and learning is carried out with the methods of questionnaire and interview before the experiment in order to find out the existing problems.The advantages and disadvantages of APP aided oral English teaching are presented by the grades of the two oral tests,and the results of the questionnaire and interview.The survey shows that mobile terminal APP aided oral English teaching has more advantages in improving learners' abilities of pronunciation,intonation and fluency while reading as well as the oral communicative competence.This new teaching mode helps to raise learners' interests,and stimulate their enthusiasm and initiatives in studies and improves the efficiency of oral English teaching.
