| This thesis is a task report for business interpreting practice in 2017 China Liaoning Investment and Trade Fair.The author,entrusted by SNU,provided one-hour business interpreting service for one-on-one matchmaking business negotiation in the fair.The task is mainly to introduce water treatment of both the two companies so as to enable a fruitful negotiation,which requires the author to master the industrial knowledge,interpreting theory and interpreting strategies.In this report,the author briefly introduced reformulation process which is the second phase of the Effort Model for consecutive interpreting proposed by Daniel Gile and analyzed this information processing process on target language,consisting of note reading,remembering speech information and production.During reformulation process in this business interpreting task,three interpreting problems,namely disfluency,redundancy of English functional words and of colloquial expressions and high level of technical information density,have increased interpreting pressure and decreased reformulation efficiency for the author by costing time and energy for note-reading,remembering and production.In this report,in order to relieve the interpreting working pressure and improve the efficiency of reformulation process,the interpretation script has been studied along with the feature of efficiency of reformulation process and features of high pressure and flexibility of business interpreting and three interpreting strategies have been applied,including moderate order adjustment,omission strategy and simplification strategy.In the final analysis,the author put forward that,to achieve efficient reformulation in business interpreting,strategies should be applied coordinatelyand legitimately according to authentic context and balance between interpreting strategies and target language should be maintained in reformulation in business interpreting. |
