Davos is the most famous economic forum in the world.With China putting forward One Belt One Road Initiative,in 2017,Davos brought the world's attention to China when for the first time,President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China gave a keynote speech at the forum.However,most of the meeting videos of Davos found on China medias are English,which leads to the limitation of access for Chinese people getting information from Davos.Therefore,the author believes that there is great necessity to interpret Davos meetings into Chinese language.The author chose the Global Economy Outlook-the highlight of Davos as interpreting material and takes Gile's Effort Model as guidance.Through combining the theory with the practice as much as possible with the aim of solving the problems for the interpreters brought by accents,high-density information and complicated syntactic structures,the author tries to find coping strategies to the obstacles in the interpreting practice.The interpreting material is informative video which is aimed to convey the information completely and objectively.Therefore,this thesis is composed of three chapters.The first chapter is Task Description,including the background,significance,and methodology of the task;The second chapter is Process Description,composed of preparation before the task,simulation and reflection after the Task;And the third chapter is the central chapter,in which the author analyzes cases under the guidance of Effort Model and applies three strategies: omission,linear interpretation,and anticipation.The author also summarized some interpreting techniques for E-C interpreting in this chapter.
