Relieving the pressure of cancer caregivers will help to promote the physical and mental health of caregivers, and then have a positive impact on cancer patients.Psychology, medicine and other disciplines put forward remedial relief measures based on this, while the domestic intervention from the perspective of social work is still in the stage of experience accumulation and is not yet mature. This paper takes the caregivers of cancer patients who have been diagnosed and are hospitalized in G Cancer Hospital as the research object, and studies the current situation and causes of the stress of cancer caregivers through questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. On this basis, according to the needs of cancer caregivers, the author organizes group activities under the guidance of social support theory, rational emotional therapy theory and empowerment theory to explore how to help cancer caregivers reduce stress through group work.Group activities provide decompression services for cancer caregivers from the aspects of health knowledge education, information policy interpretation, stress reduction skills learning, building rational beliefs and building support networks.Through the assessment,it is found that the group activities have achieved the following results:(1)cancer caregivers' awareness and ability of self-care have been improved;(2)the ability of emotional self-regulation of cancer caregivers was improved;(3)the information channels of cancer caregivers were expanded;(4)cancer caregivers established a new support network and broadened the social network. On the basis of this, the study draws the following conclusions:(1)Group work can play an active role in the decompression of cancer caregivers, which is embodied in four aspects: physiological, psychological, information support and emotional support of cancer caregivers;(2)The study also explores a group work path that haspromotion value and is feasible for cancer patient caregivers to reduce stress. This group work path starts with health knowledge education, starts from the interpretation of information policy, through decompression and relaxation skills learning, establishing rational beliefs, strengthening the internal strength of cancer caregivers, and building a support network to consolidate their external forces. The study finally put forward the idea that medical workers, psychological consultants and social workers jointly help to form a normal decompression mechanism of cancer caregivers.
