Objective:Ultramicro acupotomy is a method of therapy derived from acupotomy. To explore clinical efficacy of ultramicro acupotomy in the rehabilitation of cervical spondylosis by comparing with traditional acupuncture method. Methods:From July 2018 to July 2019,sixty patients with cervical spondylosis who met the case selection criteria were selected from outpatient service in the community health service center of Jiuting Town in Songjiang district of Shanghai. All of the patients were randomly divided into the ultramicro acupotomy group(treatment group,N=30)and the conventional acupuncture treatment group(control group,N=30).The treatment group was treated with ultramicro acupotomy, and the control group was treated with conventional acupuncture. Both of the two groups were treated with conventional physical therapy twice a week for 1 month. Before and after the treatment,3 months after treatment Using the visual analogue scale(VAS),neck dysfunction index(NDI),orthopaedic Association(JOA)scoring system for the evaluation of cervical myelopathy and northwick park neck pain Questionnaire(NPQ)to evaluate the effect.Using SPSS 22.0 statistical software for statistical analysis of all data, all significance levels were set at P<0.05.Results:1.There was no significant differences in the general data of patients and the VAS,NDI,JOA and NPQ scores before the treatment between the two gr oups(P>0.05),indicating comparability.2.The scores of VAS,NDI,and NPQ after treatment were more significantl y reduced in the two groups(P<0.01),while the score of JOA was significantl y increased(P<0.01).3.The scores of VAS,NDI and NPQ after treatment were statistically signif icant differences between the two groups(P<0.01).while the score of JOA aft er treatment was no statistical differences between the two groups(P>0.05).4.The total effective rate of the ultrafine acupotomy group(96.7%)was higher than that of the conventional acupuncture group(90.0%),there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).5.The scores of VAS,NDI and NPQ scores in treatment group after three months followed-up increased, and compared with control group there were statistically significant differences(P<0.01),while the score of JOA in two groups decreased and there was no statistical difference between them(P>0.05).Conclusions:Both of the ultrafine acupotomy and conventional acupuncture therapy showed good effect in relieving the pain caused by cervical spondylosis, improving neck dysfunction and the daily living ability of patients. The ultrafine acupotomy is superior to the conventional acupuncture therapy in obtaining long-term efficacy and improvement of symptoms.Ultrafine acupotomy is an effective method in the rehabilitation of cervical spondylosis, and it is worthy of promotion.
