ObjectiveApplying teach-back method to the health education of patients with knee replacement surgery to evaluate the application effect of the method.Provide relevant basis for the development and implementation of health education programs for patients with knee replacement surgery.MethodsThis study was an experimental study.A total of 90 patients undergoing artificial knee replacement for the first time in a orthopedics department of a third-class hospital from March2019 to December 2019 were selected as the research subjects.Random sampling was used to divide the patients into a control group and an intervention group, with 45 cases in each group. The nurses in the control group used conventional methods to guide patients in health education, and the nurses in the intervention group used teach-back teaching methods to guide patients in health education. The investigators used the Arthritis Self-Efficacy Scale(ASES-8)and the American Knee Surgery Society Score(AKS)to assess the self-efficacy and surgical side knees of the subjects when they were admitted to the hospital,2 weeks after surgery,and3 months after discharge. The data of the two groups of patients were evaluated and compared to evaluate the effect of teach-back teaching in health education for patients with knee replacement surgery.SPSS21.0 software was used for data statistical analysis, with 0.05 as the comparative inspection level.ResultsDuring the study period,2 patients in the intervention group were lost to follow-up,1patient in the control group withdrew from the cause of the disease, and 2 were lost to followup.A total of 85 subjects were collected(43 in the intervention group and 42 in the controlgroup). The statistical results of various evaluation indicators are as follows:1.Before the start of the intervention, there was no statistically significant difference in baseline data between the intervention group and the control group(P>0.05),which was comparable.2.There was no statistically significant difference in knee scores between the two groups before the operation(P>0.05);the knee scores of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group at the time point of 2 weeks after operation and 3 months after operation, the difference was statistically significant Significance(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in functional scores between the two groups before the operation(P>0.05);the function scores of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group at the time point of 2 weeks after operation and 3 months after operation(P<0.05).3.There was no difference in the self-efficacy scores between the two groups before the operation(P>0.05);at 2 weeks after the operation, the self-efficacy score of the intervention group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);There was no significant difference in self-efficacy score between the two groups at3 months time point(P>0.05).4.The time for nurses to perform the first functional exercise health education after operation was higher in the intervention group than in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion1.Applying teach-back method to health education could improve the functional recovery of patients after knee replacement.2.Applying teach-back method to health education could improve the self-efficacy of patients undergoing knee replacement surgery.3.The education time required for feedback was longer than the general education method, but the educational effect was better than traditional health education.
