PurposeThrough the comparative analysis of the clinical efficacy on Yi medical moxibustion and traditional Chinese moxibustion in the intervention of primary dysmenorrhea with congealing cold and dampness,to explore the feasibility and efficacy of Yi Medical moxibustion in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea,so as to provide a new treatment method and basis for the clinical treatment of primary dysmenorrhea.MethodsA total of 72 cases of primary dysmenorrhea with congealing cold and dampness were randomly divided into Yi medical moxibustion group and traditional Chinese moxibustion group, with 36 cases in each group. The treatment started from 5 to 7days before menstruation and lasted until the second day of menorrhagia, once a day,for a total of 3 menstrual cycles.Visual analogue scale(VAS),COX dysmenorrhea symptom scale(CMSS),TCM symptom scale(CMSS)and efficacy evaluation were performed on the day of enrollment, after 3 courses of treatment, and after 3 months of treatment.VAS scale scores were immediately obtained before and after the first treatment after the first menstrual period of the enrolled group to compare and evaluate the immediate analgesic effect.Results1.VAS scale: VAS scores of the two groups after treatment were significantly different from those before treatment(P<0.01),while the comparison between the two groups was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).2.CMSS scale: CMSS scores of the two groups after treatment were significantly different from those before treatment(P<0.01),while the comparison between the two groups was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).3.TCM symptom scale: The scores of TCM symptoms after treatment in the two groups were statistically significant compared with those before treatment and those between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05).And the control group was betterthan the treatment group.4.Immediate analgesic effect: Two groups showed significant differences in the immediate VAS score after the first treatment after the first menstrual period, compared with that before the treatment(P<0.01),and the comparison between the two groups was not statistically significant(P > 0.05).5.Efficacy evaluation: The total effective rate of Yi medical moxibustion group was87.88%,and that of traditional Chinese moxibustion group was 91.18%.There was no statistical significance in the comparison between groups(P > 0.05).The effective rate of TCM syndrome was 69.70% in Yi medical moxibustion group and 88.24% in traditional Chinese moxibustion group. The differences between two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).6.Follow-up period: There was no statistical significance in the comparison of VAS,CMSS and TCM syndrome scales between two groups(P>0.05).The recurrence rate of Yi medical moxibustion group was 58.62%,the recurrence rate of TCM syndrome was 78.26%,and that of traditional Chinese moxibustion group was 64.51%,the recurrence rate of TCM syndrome was 70.00%,no statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusion1.Yi medical moxibustion and traditional Chinese moxibustion can both improve the clinical symptoms of primary dysmenorrhea with cold dampness and stagnation, and both have similar effects in improving the degree of pain, reducing the total time of pain onset, relieving the accompanying symptoms and relieving the pain immediately.2.Yi medical moxibustion and traditional Chinese moxibustion can improve the TCM symptoms of primary dysmenorrhea with congealing cold and dampness, and the improvement in Yi medical moxibustion is worse than traditional Chinese moxibustion.3.Yi medical moxibustion is comparable to traditional Chinese moxibustion in the long-term therapeutic effect.
