Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Knee Osteoarthritis At Western Malaysia With Acupuncture And Cupping

Objective: To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture combined with bamboo cupping in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis in western Malaysia,and to evaluate the safety of acupuncture combined with cupping in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis,so as to provide theoretical basis and treatment measures for clinical treatment of knee osteoarthritis.Methods: In the early stage,through consulting a large number of domestic and foreign clinical literature,the mechanism and the latest progress of acupuncture and cupping therapy for knee osteoarthritis were systematically studied.On this basis,from January 2019 to December 2019,30 effective cases of knee osteoarthritis were collected from a TCM clinic in Benzhen County,western Malaysia.The treatment was given to the bamboo pot soaked by acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine.The Neixiyan,Waixiyan,Liangqiu,Xuehai,Heding,Yanglingquan,Yinlingquan,Zusanli and Taixi on the affected side were selected for acupuncture.After entering the needle and Qi was arriving,the bamboo cupping was pulled out at the acupuncture position.One week of treatment as a course,and after two treatment courses,the "knee osteoarthritis self-assessment scale" was used for clinical efficacy,WOMAC total index,stiffness score,pain score and difficulty score of daily activities before and after treatment.Results:(1)According to this study,the incidence rate of KOA among the50-59 patients was 21,which was significantly higher than that of the 60-70 year old age group.It showed that the incidence rate of KOA in Western Malaysia was 50-59 years old.The proportion of KOA increased with the increase of BMI index,indicating that there was a certain correlation between obesity and the incidence of KOA.(2)After two courses of acupuncture and cupping treatment,the evaluation indexes of pain score,rigidity score,difficulty score of daily activities and WOMAC total score decreased significantly compared with those before treatment,and the difference before and after treatment was statistically significant;the total effective rate of acupuncture and cupping combined treatment of KOA was93.33%.Conclusion:(1)Acupuncture and bamboo cupping with Chinese herbal soaking can effectively improve the morning stiffness,pain and function of the knee joint in patients with knee osteoarthritis,and thus improve the quality of life of the patients.(2)In the Western Malaysia,the incidence of KOA is mostly 50-59 years old,and the incidence rate of KOA is related to BMI.
