Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy,TCM syndrome scores and HAMA?HAMD scores of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of Neurogenic Tinnitus with Shugan Shengqing Qibi, the purpose is to provide clinical and experimental evidence of the effectiveness of the therapy for the disease. Methods: 60 patients with Neurogenic Tinnitus were randomly divided into the acupuncture and moxibustion group and the western medicine control group.30 patients per group were included and clinically observed. The acupuncture and moxibustion group received treatments 6 times a week,1 day of rest in the between,20 days for the observation and 18 times of the treatment. The western medicine group was the same as that of treatment group. Both groups were evaluated on the basis of clinical efficacy,TCM syndrome scores,Hamilton anxiety scale and Hamilton depression scale before treatment, after treatment and during follow-up 1 month later. Results: Shedding and screening after experiment,a total of 57 patients completed the experiment, including 29 in the acupuncture and moxibustion group and 28 in the western medicine group.1 Comparison of clinical efficacy After treatment,10 cases were cured in the acupuncture and moxibustion group.Simultaneously,11 cases were markedly effective and 7 cases were effective.Only 1 case was invalid, and the total effective rate was 96.55%.In the western medicine group,3 cases were cured.Meanwhile,10 cases were markedly effective and 6 cases were effective.9 cases were invalid, and so the total effective rate was 67.86%.By comparison,Z=-2.786,P=0.005,the difference was statistically significant. From this, the acupuncture and moxibustion group had better therapeutic effect.Besides, the statistical results of follow-up after 1 month showed that its advantages are to maintain the efficacy and lower relapse rate.2 TCM syndrome scores In terms of TCM syndrome scores, the results showed that compared with before intervention, the acupuncture and moxibustion group after intervention and during follow-up was significantly better than the western medicine group in dizziness, palpitation, shortness of breath, tinnitus, deafness and lumbar debility. It can be considered that the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).3 HAMA?HAMD scores In terms of HAMA ? HAMD total scores, compared with before the intervention, the decrease of acupuncture and moxibustion group after the intervention and during the follow-up was significantly greater than the western medicine group. At the same time, the acupuncture and moxibustion group was significantly better than the western medicine group in relieving anxiety and depression symptoms. These confirm that the acupuncture and moxibustion group had a significant long-term effect(P<0.05).Conclusions: Acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of Neurogenic Tinnitus with “Shugan Shengqing Qibi” can effectively improve TCM syndrome scores and anxiety and depression symptoms. Its clinical efficacy is superior than the combination of estolam and Betahistine Mesilate Tablets.
