The SARS outbreak in 2003 left an indelible memory for the Chinese people. And in recent years, public health emergencies in China have occurred from time to time, threatening people’s health and national security. With the development of mobile social media, the decentralized fission communication method has profoundly changed the traditional information communication mode. The information participation of social media users, especially the information communication behavior, has become an important factor affecting the spread and diffusion of public health emergencies. This study takes the spread of COVID-19 as an example, using qualitative interviews and network observation as the research methods to obtain research materials,on the basis of the existing results of the crisis communication research, first of all, based on Steven Fink’s theory of crisis stage analysis, focused on the individual audience in the crisis,to study that how people respond to a public health emergency with high risks and uncertainties, including what kind of state of people shown in the various stages of crisis, and what kind of communication crisis information dissemination activities have people carried out,and try to analyze the individual’s crisis response in the crisis event through the individual’s crisis information dissemination behavior. The study found that in the era of mobile internet, social media plays an important role in the spread of crisis events. In the face of COVID-19,individuals establish their awareness of the crisis through the use of social media and information firstly, and then carry out crisis information dissemination behaviors based on interpersonal relationship and social media characteristics. In the process of information dissemination, the individuals realize the transformation of the role of transmission and reception..And in the crisis dialogue among family members, individuals become the subjects of crisis communication of family members in a certain sense. At the same time,on the basis of the crisis stage analysis theory, this study summarizes and puts forward the stage mode of individual psychological change in crisis evolution. The study found that in the evolution of the crisis, the individual also exhibited periodic psychological characteristics, and the individual’s psychological status is closely related to the actual information dissemination behavior or information decision-making,and embodied in the prodromal and breakout stage, with a strong sense of crisis, people will be more active to share information to prevent the risk of infection caused by public health emergency from harming their health, and in the chronic and resolution stages, people reduce the acquisition and dissemination of information to cope with psychological crisis. |
