Objective:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Buxue Yangrong ointment by observing the improvement and adverse reactions of anemia index, quality of life and clinical symptoms in patients with gastrointestinal tumor-related mild and moderate anemia with dialectical classification of qi and blood deficiency,to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Buxue Yangrong ointment. Methods:In this study, according to the principle of complete randomization and control,66 patients collected from the oncology department and outpatient department of the second affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2018 to December 2019 were divided into treatment group(n = 33)and control group(n = 33).The control group was only given basic treatment(including iron supplement, folic acid tablets, vitamin B12 tablets and other routine treatment),and the treatment group was treated with Buxue Yangrong ointment and basic treatment. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The changes of Hb,RBC,HCT,KPS score and TCM syndrome score were analyzed to judge the improvement of anemia in the two groups.Results:(1)There was no significant difference in Hb,RBC and HCT between the two groups at D0,but there was significant difference in Hb,RBC and HCT between the two groups at D29.In the treatment group, there was no significant difference in the concentration of Hb between D0 and D15,but there was significant difference between D0 and D29.The results of RBC and HCT at D0 were significantly different from those at D15 and D29,while there was no significant difference in Hb,RBC and HCT in the control group before and after treatment. The levels of Hb,RBC and HCT in the treatment group were linearly correlated with time.It shows that Buxue Yangrong ointment can significantly improve the indexes of anemia, and increasing the treatment time may improve the therapeutic effect.(2)There was no significant difference in KPS score between the two groups before treatment, but there was significant difference after treatment. There was statistical significance in the treatment group(P < 0.05),but there was no statistical significance in the control group(P > 0.05).And the improvement rate in the treatment group(60.6%)was significantly higher than that in the control group(24.2%).It shows that after 4 weeks of treatment, the quality of life of the patients has been effectively improved.(3)There was no significant difference in the scores of TCM symptoms between the two groups before treatment(P > 0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment, all the scores in the treatment group decreased, and the scores of pale or yellowish complexion, palpitation, shortness of breath, insomnia, fatigue and anorexia in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05).However,there was no significant difference in TCM syndrome scores of dizziness and hand and foot numbness(P > 0.05).And through the observation of the effective rate, the effective rate of Buxue Yangrong ointment was significantly higher than that of symptomatic treatment only(P < 0.05).there were(4)no obvious adverse reactions. Conclusion:Buxue Yangrong ointment can effectively improve the anemia indexes such as Hb,RBC and PLT in peripheral blood of patients with gastrointestinal tumor complicated with mild to moderate anemia(deficiency of qi and blood),reduce the degree of anemia, improve the quality of life, reduce the score of TCM symptoms and signs of deficiency of qi and blood, such as pallor or yellowness, palpitation, shortness of breath, insomnia, mental fatigue, food deficiency and other TCM symptoms and signs, and the safety is good.
