A Study On The Causes And Countermeasures Of Medical Disputes

Objective The frequency of doctor-medical disputes not only influences the social harmony and stability,and deteriorated the medical conditions,discouraged medical staff,and broke the trust between doctors and patients,but also hindered the development of medical science.This article analyzed the causes and countermeasures of doctor-patient disputes from aspects of government,medical institutions,medical staff and patients,and aimed to solve current doctor-patient conflicts,ease disputes of doctors and patients,establish a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.Methods Collected samples and disputes from 2015-2017 of a hospital with third class A level 1 in north Jiangsu as well as some reported cases of doctor-patient disputes happened in recent years,mainly analyzed the distribution and types of doctor-patient disputes.Results Disputes of doctor-patient not only occurred in clinical and technical departments,but also occurred in service and administration departments.Medical skills and service attitude were main reasons which may cause doctor-patient disputes.Government,society,doctors and patients,even network media were all responsible for maintaining a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.Conclusions As to doctor-patient disputes become more and more fierce,we should analyze the reasons and take certain interventions to improve the quality of medical service and meet the demands of public for medical service.Moreover,we should also pay attention to humanistic care,reduce doctor-patient disputes and solve the disputes together,establish a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.
