Objective: This study compared serum interleukin-6 and interleukin 15 between Tibetan and Han patients with tuberculosis and healthy controls in Qinghai.Understanding the expression differences of IL-6 and IL-15 in tuberculosis patients of different ethnic groups, and understanding the changes of IL-6 and IL-15 levels after drug treatment, providing reference for the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis in Qinghai area. Methods:Using case-control study,50 Tibetan tuberculosis patients and 30 Han tuberculosis patients were selected from December 2016 to October 2018.50 cases of healthy Tibetans and 30 cases of healthy Hans were selected at the same time. The levels of IL-6 and IL-15 in serum were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).The expression levels of IL-6 and IL-15 in each group were compared and analyzed. The patients with tuberculosis after intensive treatment(isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, ethambutol)was retested after 2 months, and the expression levels of IL-6 and IL-15 were compared before and after treatment and between the healthy group.Results:(1)There was no significant difference in serum IL-6 and IL-15 expression levels between Tibetan healthy group and Han healthy group(p>0.05);(2)The results showed that the expression levels of IL-6 and IL-15 in Tibetan and Han patients with tuberculosis were higher than the healthy group(p<0.05);(3)Tibetan tuberculosis patients the expression level of IL-6 in serum was significantly higher than that in Han patients with pulmonary tuberculosis(p<0.05),but there was no significant difference in serum IL-15 expression between Tibetan patients and Han patients with tuberculosis(p>0.05);(4)The expression levels of IL-6 and IL-15 in serum of Tibetan and Han patients with tuberculosis who were after treated were significantly lower than those before treatment(p<0.05).After 2 months of treatment, the expression of IL-6 in Tibetan and Han patients was still higher than that in the healthy control group(p<0.05).(5)There was no significant difference in serum IL-6 and IL-15 expression levels between Tibetan and Han patients with tuberculosis who after treated(p>0.05).Conclusions:(1)The expression levels of IL-6 and IL-15 in serum of Tibetan and Han patients with tuberculosis are higher than those of Tibetan and Han who are healthy, suggesting that two cytokines(IL-6 and IL-15)may participate in the process of tuberculosis occurred;(2)The level of IL-6 expression in the serum of Tibetan tuberculosis patients and Han patients was significantly different,Tibetans were significantly higher than Han,suggesting that IL-6 may be caused by tuberculosis in Tibetan patients. One of the risk factors, and suggest that there may be ethnic differences in the expression of IL-6 in tuberculosis;(3)IL-6 and IL-15 decreased in Tibetan and Han patients after IV anti-tuberculosis treatment, suggesting that the two factors can be the basis for the progress of tuberculosis treatment and the judgment of late efficacy;(4)The expression of IL-6 in Tibetan and Han patients was still higher than that in the healthy group, indicating that after 2 months of regular anti-tuberculosis treatment, the patient's condition was relieved but still not fully improved.IL-6 is still participating the outcome of tuberculosis.
