In recent years,the continuous occurrence of "traumatic incidents of mental illness patients" has pushed schizophrenia patients to the forefront of the storm.Mental health issues have attracted great attention of the whole society.By the end of 2017,7.8 million schizophrenics had been registered in China.Affected by the "de-institutionalization" movement,the main responsibility of care for schizophrenic patients has gradually shifted from institutions to families,and families have increasingly become the core pillar of daily activities and rehabilitation integration of schizophrenic patients.However,with the development of social diversification,family caregivers of schizophrenia are facing more and more heavy pressure of care,and more family caregivers have appeared anxiety and other symptoms harmful to health.Based on this background,it is particularly urgent to alleviate the plight of family caregivers of schizophrenics,which is also a recessive demand brought by social development.In order to fully understand the plight and needs of family caregivers of schizophrenic patients,the author first selected 9 family caregivers of schizophrenic patients in J District of Chongqing for in-depth interviews.Interview results show that family caregivers are facing multiple predicaments,such as physical,psychological,economic and social,in the process of caring for patients,and there are both material and spiritual needs.The author tries to take L case of H community in Chongqing(respondent C1)as an example,take social support theory and ecosystem theory as theoretical basis,take literature research,participatory observation,case study and semi-structured interview as research methods,and use case management as professional service method to conduct social work intervention research on the plight of family caregivers of schizophrenia.This study consists of five parts.The first part is the introduction.Firstly,the background and significance of this study are explained,and the research results on family caregivers of schizophrenia at home and abroad are summarized and commented.Secondly,the relevant concepts are defined,and the social support theory and ecosystem theory used are analyzed.Finally,it briefly states the research object,basic ideas and methods,and ethical principles to be followed.The second part is the dilemma faced by family caregivers of schizophrenia and their needs analysis.Through the analysis of interview data of 9 family caregivers of schizophrenia patients,the predicament and general needs of family caregivers of schizophrenia at present are summarized.The third part is the practical process of social work intervention in the plight of family caregivers of schizophrenia.Firstly,it introduces the background of case selection,collects data and establishes professional relationships,then describes the problems,evaluates the needs and formulates service plans.Social workers intervene in the psychological support needs,health needs,shared care tasks and the survival needs of the caregivers.Finally,the intervention effect was evaluated and the case was successfully concluded.The fourth part reflects on the gains and losses of using social work methods to alleviate the plight of family caregivers of schizophrenic patients from the aspects of intervention process,research ethics,application of theoretical methods and their own limitations.The fifth part is the summary and suggestions.To summarize the role and practical experience of social work in alleviating the plight of family caregivers with schizophrenia,and to provide reference for future research or service of this group.Finally,some suggestions and measures are put forward for the difficulties and needs of the research objects in this study.
