Objective To find out the relevant factors of Mongolian with hemorrhoids provides scientific bases for the etiological study and prevention in the future. To analyze the distribution characteristics of TCM syndromes of hemorrhoids in Mongolian patients provides reference for TCM treatment of hemorrhoids in Mongolian population. The correlation between relevant factors and TCM syndromes was summarized and the preventive methods were put forward, which can be specially used for health education of patients. Methods Case-control analysis was used.We conducted a face-to-face survey between the Mongolian hemorrhoid patients and the Mongolian non-hemorrihoid,who saw a doctor and met the inclusion criteria in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine,Inner Mongolia International Mongolian Medical Hospital,Bayannaoer Mongolian Medical Hospital,Ordos Mongolian Medical Hospital and Ximeng Mongolian Medical Hospital and the medical examination centers of the hospitals from January to December in 2018.They are on the basis of inclusion and excluding criteria, and fill in the Questionnaire of Hemorrhoids Related Factors in Mongolian Population.Logistic regression analysis(P<0.05)was used to analyze the related factors of hemorrhoids in Mongolian population and the correlation between related factors and TCM syndromes.Anorectal surgeons and investigators confirm and verify the symptoms of patients, ascertain the TCM syndromes of hemorrhoids in Mongolian population, and summarize the distribution characteristics. Results There were 247 cases in the case group and 223 cases in the control group.Among 247 cases of hemorrhoids,14 cases(6%)had wind-injured intestinal collaterals syndrome,104 cases(42%)had damp-heat injection syndrome,82 cases(33%)had qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome,37 cases(15%)had spleen deficiency and qi depression syndrome, and 10 cases(4%)of heat toxicity and incandescence syndrome. There were significant differences in age, greasy food, spicy food, exercise, time of squatting, frequency of cleaning anus, and history of hemorrhoids between hemorrhoids group and control group(P<0.05).The influencing factors of different TCM syndromes are different.Among them, the risk factors of Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome are the time of squatting toilet and the history of hemorrhoids in the close relatives. The risk factors of damp-heat injection are eating greasy food and the history of hemorrhoids in the close relatives. The risk factors of deficiency of spleen and Qi deficiency syndrome are the history of hemorrhoids in close relatives(P<0.05).Conclusion The occurrence of hemorrhoids in Mongolian population, who is 28-37 and 48-57 are prone to hemorrhoids,is related to the age.The hemorrhoids in Mongolian people is closely related to their dietary habits.Secondly, the risk factors of hemorrhoids in Mongolian population are greasy food, spicy food, prolonged squatting time and the history of hemorrhoids in close relatives.Proper exercise and 2-6 times a week of anus cleaning can reduce the incidence of hemorrhoids in Mongolian population. In addition, the survey also found that Mongolian population who have the history of hemorrhoids in their close relatives were susceptible to hemorrhoids. The main TCM syndromes of hemorrhoids were damp-heat injection syndrome in 104 cases(42%)and blood stasis syndrome in 82 cases(33%).The time spent in squatting toilet for more than 5 minutes will increase the risk of Qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome in Mongolian hemorrhoids patients.Intermittent or frequent eating of greasy foods will increase the risk of damp-heat syndrome in Mongolian population. The history of hemorrhoids in close relatives will increase the risk of damp-heat injection syndrome,qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome and spleen deficiency and qi depression syndrome in Mongolian hemorrhoids patients. To prevent the occurrence of hemorrhoids,it is necessary to develop good living and eating habits, including proper exercise, controlling of squatting time, keeping the anus clean and hygienic, controlling weight,no preference for spicy stimulation and high-fat food.If the direct relatives have a history of hemorrhoids,we should pay more attention to the above related factors. If Mongolian hemorrhoids patients are diagnosed as qi stagnation and blood stasis syndrome, the time of squatting toilet should be controlled within 5 minutes as far as possible. If Mongolian hemorrhoids patients are diagnosed as damp-heat syndrome, they should try their best to eat simple food.
