Abstract/Summary:
ObjectiveTo explore the expression of eIF3a(eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3a)in both type I epithelial ovarian cancer patients and type Ⅱ epithelial ovarian cancer patients, and the difference of the expression of eIF3 a in the two kinds of epithelial ovarian cancer. The relationship between eIF3 a and the development of these two kinds of cancers is also studied,to evaluate the value of eIF3 a in the early diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of epithelial ovarian cancer.Methord80 cases of ovarian specimens patients from the Department of Gynecologic Oncology,Hunan Provincial Cancer Hospital from June2012 to June 2013 were studied, which were diagnosed as epithelial ovarian cancer. All the cases were diagnosed as type Ⅰ ovarian cancer(20cases)through pathological diagnosis and type Ⅱ ovary(60 cases)through immunohistochemistry(IHC),which is a method through the detecting the expression of eIf3 a vary in different types of epithelial ovarian cancer to provide the diagnosing proves. At the same time, the classification of80 cases were further discussed through other methods, such as screening of patients’ cases,follow-up of patients with standard treatment after surgery. All the researches are aimed to further analyze the relationship between eIf3 a and the clinical features of 80 patients with epithelial ovarian cancer, and the effects of eIf3 a expression on survival prognosis of patients with epithelial ovarian cancer.Results1.The expression rates of eIF3 a in type Ⅰ epithelial ovarian cancer and type Ⅱ epithelial ovarian cancer were 25%(5/20)and 16.7%(10/60),respectively.There was no significant difference in the expression of eIF3 a between the two kinds of cancers(p>0.05);2.Kplan-Meier survival curve analysis showed that there was no significant difference in disease-free survival and overall survival between patients of type I epithelial ovarian cancer with eIF3a-overexpressing and patients with low eIF3 a expression(p>0.05).3.Kplan-Meier survival curve analysis showed that patients of type Ⅱ epithelial ovarian cancer with high expression of eIF3 a had significantly lower disease-free survival and overall survival than patients with low eIF3 a expression(p<0.05).4.In epithelial ovarian cancer, the expression of eIF3 a was not associated with the age of onset and the clinical stage of FIGO(p>0.05),but was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis(p<0.05).Conclusion1.There was no significant difference in the expression of eIF3 a between type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ ovarian cancer.2.Expression of eIF3 a is associated with metastasis of ovarian cancer.3.eIF3 a is expected to be a potential independent prognostic factor for type Ⅱ epithelial ovarian cancer.
