Purpose: Study the expression and its clinical significance of the vascular endothelial growth factor(vascular endothelial growth factor, VEGF) and the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3a(eukaryoti translation initiation factors 3 a. e IF3a) in the colorectal cancer tissues,in order to provide a new train of thought for the early diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer. Methods: The immunohistochemical method(SP) is used in this experiment to respectively detect the expression levels of VEGF and el F3 a in the organization of 60 cases colorectal cancer tissues, 50 cases normal tissue and 20 cases colorectal adenomas. Then analyze the relationship between the expression levels of VEGF and el F3 a and the clinical pathological parameters of patients with colorectal cancer.Results:1. The expression of VEGF and el F3 a in colorectal cancer tissues are significantly higher than normal group(p < 0. 05) and rectal adenomas group(p < 0. 05), el F3 a in colorectal adenomas and normal colorectal tissues expression significantly different(P <0.05), but the expression of VEGF exist no difference in colorectal adenomas and normal colorectal tissues(p > 0.05). 2. The expression of VEGF and el F3 a in colorectal cancer tissues are related with the infiltration depth of colorectal cancer, lymph node metastasis, Dukes staging(p < 0. 05). 3. The expression of VEGF and el F3 a in colorectal cancer tissues have nothing to do with the patients’ age, sex and tumor size(p > 0.05). 4.VEGF and el F3 a expression in colorectal cancer was positively correlated(r = 0.512, p = 0.00).Conclusion: 1. The result that the expression of VEGF and el F3 a in colorectal cancer tissues are higher than normal group and rectal adenomas group infers both e IF3 a and VEGF may be closely related with the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer, and both of them expressed in colon cancer were positively correlated. 2. The expression of VEGF and el F3 a in colorectal cancer tissues are related with the infiltration depth of colorectal cancer, lymph nodemetastasis, Dukes staging. But have nothing to do with the patients’ age, sex and tumor size.
