The Study Of Constitution Of Traditional Chinese Medicine Of Sudden Hear Ing Loss And Related Influencing Factors

Objective:Analyzing the Constitution of Traditional Chinese Medicine(CTCM)from the scores of questionnaires that were collected from patients with Sudden Hearing Loss(SHL),the related influencing factors such as personal and social reasons,we can reveal the bond of CTCM with classifications of the disease,the extent of hearing loss,the type of hearing curves,the prognosis,the seasonal regulation and abnormal lab-text result.Exploring research is made for preventing and curing SHL at the point of CTCM,which will offer important theories and precautions for defending SHL.Methods:<Constitution in Chinese Medicine Questionnaire)(CCMQ)was determined by professor Wang,who has classified CTCM into nine kinds containing one normal type and eight pathological types.Based on CCMQ,the research divided 200 patients with SHL into the study group and 200 healthy people into the control group.Both of them were required to answer the sheets of CCMQ and the general data(details as each attached list)to judge their constitutions.After collecting the details,the statistics were analyzed by using the SPS19.0 to explore the influencing factors of SHL and the bond of CTCM with classifications of the disease,the extent of hearing loss,the type of hearing curves,the prognosis,the seasonal regulations,and abnormal lab-text result.Results:1?Comparing the study group with the control group,age and gender had no apparent difference.P<0.05 and OR>1 in the sleeping quality and emotional condition.They were statistically significant and risk factors of SHL.P>0.05 in diet habits,noisy surroundings and irrelated primary diseases,which were statistically insignificant.2?Lab-text result detected by Binary Logistic Analysis revealed P<0.05 and OR>1 in blood viscosity and blood lipid and figured they were statistically significant and risk factors of SHL.While P>0.05 in erythrocyte sedimentation rate and blood clotting function,they were statistically insignificant.3?High-density lipoprotein(HDL)and Low-density lipoprotein(LDL)resulted P<0.001 in Chi square test and showed their statistical significance.4?In the survey of 200 cases of SHL,there were 24 cases(12.0%)broke out at the age of 21 to 30,while 35(17.5%)at 30' s,66(33.0%)at 40' s,44(22.0%)at 50' s,29(14.5%)at 60' s and 2(1%)at 80' s.Most of the cases broke out at the age of 40' s.The median was 46.08 and the breaking-out age was(46.08+25.08).The morbidity of Spring was 26.5%,Summer 29.5%,Winter 26.5%and 17.5%in Autumn,which was the minimum of seasons.5?After examined by Binary Logistic Analysis,the related types of constitution were Blood stasis,Qi depression and Mild.Blood-stasis type and Qi-depression type were risk factors and Mild type was protecting factor.6?The constitution ' s distribution of audiometric curve revealed Blood-stasis type,Qi-depression type and Qi-deficiency type were dominant in Low-frequency-dropping type.Qi-depression type,Blood-stasis type and Wet-heat type were dominant in High-frequency-dropping type.Blood-stasis type and Qi-depression type were major in flat-dropping type and yin-deficiency type was the third following Blood-stasis type and Qi-depression type in stone-deaf type.7?The constitution ' s distribution of extent of hearing loss revealed Qi-depression type and Blood-stasis type were dominant in mild extent.In moderate extent Blood-stasis type was the most and Qi-depression followed.In moderate-severe extent ranked Qi-depression?Blood-stasis and Qi-deficiency.In severe extent ranked Qi-depression?Blood-stasis and Mild.In the extremely-severe extent,Qi-depression was the most and followed by Blood-stasis and Wet-heat type.8?The constitution' s distribution of illness course revealed all types were maximum in the course under one week except Special type.Yang-deficiency type and Special type were dominant In the more-than-2-weeks course.9?The constitution' s distribution of classification revealed the kind of Qi and Blood-stasis and weak-in-spleen-and-stomach were dominant in all types of constitution.The type of weak-in-spleen-and-stomach was more than Qi and Blood-stasis type in Mild,Yin-deficiency and phlegm-damp type.In other constitution Qi and Blood-stasis type was more.10?Prognosis was examined by Chi square test with gender,sleeping quality,and emotional condition and irrelated primary diseases.All but gender got P<0.05,which were statistically significant.Conclusions:1?Comparing the study group with the control group,sleeping quality,emotional condition,blood viscosity and blood lipid were risk factors of SHL.Gender,diet habits,noisy surroundings,irrelated primary diseases,erythrocyte sedimentation rate and blood clotting
