ObjectiveThe purpose of this research is to study the effect of Ear apex bleeding therapy on migraine.By comparing with conventional acupuncture treatment,we mainly observe the frequency, degree, duration and the score of accompanying symptoms of migraine, and SF-36 Quality of Life Scale as the observation index, therefore as to find out whether Ear apex bleeding therapy can improve the clinical efficacy and alleviate the symptoms of headache and on the other hand to improve the patients' quality of life.MethodsSixty migraine patients with blood stasis obstructing collaterals wer e selected, all of whom came from the outpatient department of acupuncture and moxibustion of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2018 to January 2019.They wer e randomly divided into treatment group(Ear apex bleeding combined with c onventional acupuncture group)and control group(conventional acupuncture group),30 cases in each group. The specific acupoints of the control group were:Touwei(ST8),Sizhukong(TE23),Baihui(GV20),Fengchi(GB20),Shuaigu(GB8),Hegu(LI4),Taichong(LR4),Waiguan(TE5),Lieque(LU7),Yanglingquan(GB34)and Zulinqi(GB41).The acupoints of the treatment group were identical wi th those of the control group and were bloodletting at the Ear apex. Two g roups of patients were treated three times a week, once every other day,s ix times as a course of treatment,a total of two courses of treatment.Bef ore and after treatment, the headache scores,SF-36 quality of life scores and the total efficacy of the two groups were evaluated.Statistical soft ware SPSS23.0 was used for statistical analysis and comparison to evaluat e the effect of Ear apex bloodletting therapy on the treatment of migrain e with blood stasis and collateral obstruction.ResultsBefore treatment, there was no significant difference in gender, age, course of disease between the two groups(P>0.05),indicating that the two groups were comparable. Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the degree of headache between the two groups(P>0.05),indicating that the two groups were comparable. After treatment, the number of headache attacks, the degree of headache, the duration of headache and the accompanying symptoms of the two groups were improved to varying degrees.Compared before and after treatment,it was found that the effect of Ear apex bloodletting combined with acupuncture was better than that of conventional acupuncture group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate was 96.7%in the treatment group and 86.7%in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In addition, there was no difference in the quality of life between the two groups in terms of 8 dimensions and total scores of physiological function, physiological function, physical pain, general health, energy, social function, emotional function, mental health before treatment by SF-36 quality of life scale(P>0.05).After treatment, the dimensions and total scores of quality of life in the two groups were higher than those in the treatment group(P>0.05).Before treatment, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),suggesting that the quality of life of the two groups were improved after treatment, while the difference between the two groups before and after treatment was significantly higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),suggesting that the dimensions of quality of life in the treatment group were better than those in the control group.ConclusionsThe Ear apex bleeding therapy combined with conventional acupuncture and conventional acupuncture is effective in the treatment of migraine with blood stasis and collateral obstruction. The Ear apex bleeding therapy combined with conventional acupuncture is superior to conventional acupuncture in terms of headache indicators, improvement of quality of life and overall efficacy.
