Objective Investigate the risk factors of carotid artery intima media thickness in Type2 Diabetes Mellitus(T2DM)patients,and to provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of diabetic macroangiopathy. Methods A total of 6294 cases of T2 DM hospitalized in the Department of Endocrinology, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University from January2010 to December 2016 were collected. After scanning in the case room,Epi Data software was used for data entry, and the selected data was complete, and the exclusion criteria were excluded.Cases,3570 cases met the inclusion criteria, collecting gender, age, disease course, body mass index(BMI),smoking history, drinking history, family history of diabetes, history of hypertension, history of coronary heart disease, cerebral infarction General information such as medical history, history of foot ulcers, and Serum Uric acid(SUA),Triglyceride(TG),Total Cholesterol(TC),Low Density Lipoprotein,LDL-C),High Density Lipoprotein(HDL-C),Fasting plasma glucose(FPG),Fasting C-Peptide(FCP),Glycosylated hemoglobin Alc(Glycosylated hemoglobin Alc,Hb Alc),bilateral carotid intima-media thickness(c IMT)and other auxiliary examination data.To investigate the risk factors associated with carotid intima-media thickening. The patients were divided into groups according to the risk factors of carotid intima-media thickening. The differences of c IMT between the groups and the incidence of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular diseases were analyzed.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 19.0 statistical software. Results 1.The comparison of baseline data between the carotid endarteral thickeners group and the normal group indicated that there were statistical differences between the two groups in age, family history of diabetes, history of hypertension, history of cerebral infarction, history of foot ulcer,BMI,SBP,SUA,LDL-C,Hb A1 c,and c IMT,with P < 0.05,and no statistical significance in other indexes.2.Pearson correlation analysis showed that age,SUA level,SBP,Hb Alc,LDL-C,and duration of disease were positively correlated with c IMT,P<0.05,and r values were0.156,0.043,0.081,0.042,0.037,0.034,respectively.3.The carotid intima-media thickening was used as the dependent variable, and the relevant risk factors were used as independent variables for binary regression analysis. The ages,Hb A1 c,SBP and SUA,the OR values were 0.352,0.085,0.022,0.002,P <0.05.The risk factors for carotid intima-media thickening were age,Hb A1 c,SBP,and SUA,which were statistically significant,P<0.05.4.According to the risk factors of carotid intima thickening,SUA,age,SBP,Hb Alc group, there were differences in c IMT between the groups,P<0.05.5.At the same SUA,SBP,Hb Alc levels, the differences in c IMT between the groups with different ages were analyzed. The results showed that there were statistical differences between the groups,P < 0.05.This suggests that different ages will affect c IMT after other factors have been corrected.Divided into four groups according to age,the history of hypertension, history of coronary heart disease, history of cerebral infarction, and history of foot ulcer were analyzed. The results showed that there was a statistical difference in the history of hypertension, history of coronary heart disease, and cerebral infarction between the groups,P<0.05.6.In the same SUA,age,Hb Alc level, the difference of c IMT between the groups with different SBP levels was analyzed. The results showed that there were statistical differences between the groups,P<0.05.This suggests that different SBP levels will have an impact on c IMT after other factors have been corrected.According to the quartile of SBP,the patients were divided into four groups. The history of hypertension, history of coronary heart disease, history of cerebral infarction and history of foot ulcer were analyzed. The results suggest. There was a statistical difference in the history of hypertension and cerebral infarction between the groups,P<0.05.7.At the same SBP,age, and Hb Alc levels, the differences in c IMT between groups with different SUA levels were analyzed. The results showed that there were statistical differences between the groups,P < 0.05.This suggests that after adjusting for other factors, different SUA levels will have an impact on c IMT.According to the quartile of SUA,the patients were divided into four groups. The history of hypertension, history of coronary heart disease, history of cerebral infarction and history of foot ulcer were analyzed. The results showed that there was a statistical difference in the history of hypertension, history of coronary heart disease, and cerebral infarction between the groups,P<0.05.8.Differences in c IMT between groups with different Hb Alc levels were analyzed at the same SBP,age, and SUA levels. The results showed statistical differences between the groups,P < 0.05.This suggests that different Hb Alc levels will have an impact on c IMT after other factors have been corrected.According to the quartile of Hb A1 c,the patients were divided into four groups. The history of hypertension, history of coronary heart disease, history of cerebral infarction and history of foot ulcer were analyzed. The results showed that there was a statistical difference in the history of hypertension and the history of foot ulcers between the groups,P<0.05.Conclusion The risk factors associated with carotid intima-media thickening in T2 DM patients were age,SBP,SUA,and HbA1c.
