Objective: To investigate the prevalence and influencing factors of negative sentiment among the elderly from a community in Hefei.Method: Using a cross-sectional survey to investigation the elderly people that among65-year-old or over-aged without neurological,psychiatric,family history of psychiatric disorders,drug and alcohol allergic dependence in a community of Hefei.The negative emotional risk factors questionnaire,self-rating depression scale(SDS)and self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)were investigated.SDS and SAS that scored more than 50 were positive.After training by psychologists,investigators should unify the caliber of investigation and strictly control the inclusion and exclusion of the investigated subjects.Results:A total of 1,491 community seniors participated in this survey,including 761 males(51.0%),730 females(49.0%),average age(72.12±5.88)years old,and 1011 local residents(67.8%).1280 people(85.8%)were married;primary school and below were mainly(1110,accounting for 74.4%);69.1% of them monthly income was 1,000 yuan or less,More than half of the respondents(54.3%)live with their children or grandchildren.Among the respondents,563(37.8%)had hypertension and 156(10.5%)had diabetes.The prevalence of depression was 21.1%.Local household registration,no occupation,living alone,insufficient income and poor health status were the influencing factors of depression(P < 0.05).Chronic disease,exercise,age,education and monthly income were not related to depression.The detection rate of anxiety was2.9%.Local household registration,living alone,no exercise and poor health status were the influencing factors of anxiety(P< 0.05).There was no significant difference between chronic diseases,educational level,monthly income,whether it was enough ornot.The positive rate of negative emotions(depression,anxiety,depression and anxiety)was 21.7%.Local residence,living alone,no exercise,inadequate income were the influencing factors of negative emotions(P< 0.05).Conclusion: Negative emotions such as depression and anxiety exist in the elderly population from a community in Hefei.The main factors affecting negative emotions include household registration,exercise,residence pattern,and economic income,etc.Targeted prevention should be carried out to tackle those factors imperatively.
