Objective:The aim of this research is to compare and analyze the differences in therapeutic effect of two treatment methods, which are,the application of ointment rubbing using 双intment dissipating nodules to relieve pain' and the consumption of 全i Mo oral solution'.This is done by observing the clinical therapeutic effect of these two methods in the treatment of dampness-heat-stagnation-type of mesenteric lymphadenitis in children. This in turn provides a new theoretical basis clinically in treating this disease.Methods:60 patients, who conformed to the diagnostic criteria of dampness-heatstagnation-type of mesenteric lymphadenitis in children, are randomly divided into two groups, the ointment-rubbing group(treatment group)and the 全i Mo oral solution' group(control group),with 30 samples in each group. In treatment group, massage is done on specific acupoints of children, which include, reinforcing Spleen,arc-pushing Eight Diagrams, pushing Three-Guan(radial side of forearm),reducing Six-Fu organ(ulnar side of forearm),kneading TianShu(ST25),clockwise-circular rubbing abdomen and grapsing Du Jiao(corner of abdomen).SanJieZhiTong ointment is used as a medium for massage during every treatment.Treatment is done once a day.7 days a course,4 courses in total. In control group, patients are given 10 ml of 全i Mo oral solution' each time, taking with barley soup, trice a day,7 days a course,4 courses in total. After 4 treatment courses, observation and comparisons are made in between the scores of two groups, before and after the treatment, from the aspect of syndrome's criteria, abdominal pain rating and, longitudinal and transverse diameter of mesenteric lymph nodes. Then, same comparisons are made by viewing the overall scores between treatment group and control group. Results:Intragroup scores' comparison of two groups, before and after the treatment, from the aspect of syndrome's criteria, abdominal pain rating and, longitudinal and transverse diameter of mesenteric lymph nodes,P<0.05,indicating both ointment rubbing and consumption of 全i Mo oral solution' are effective in treating mesenteric lymphadenitis in children.Overall evaluation of efficacy: Statistical result shows that total effective rate of treatment group is 93.10%,with recovery rate 24.14% and improvement rate 44.83%.Meanwhile,control group has its total effective rate 85.71%,with recovery rate 10.71% and improvement rate 28.57%.Comparison of two groups with P<0.05,indicating that ointment rubbing has better efficacy than 全i Mo oral solution' in treating mesenteric lymphadenitis in children.Evaluation of improvement of signs and symptoms: There are significant differences between two groups(P<0.05),indicating that treatment group performed better compared to control group in improving signs and symptoms.Evaluation of efficacy in reducing abdominal pain: Comparison of two groups with P<0.01,indicating that treatment group has better efficacy in relieving abdominal pain compared to control group.Evaluation of improvement in reducing size of mesenteric lymph nodes: Comparison of two groups with P<0.01,indicating that ointment rubbing has better efficacy in reducing sizes of mesenteric lymph nodes compared to consuming 全i Mo oral solution'.Conclusion: Ointment rubbing is an effective treatment method in treating mesenteric lymphadenitis by relieving abdominal pain and other relevant clinical signs and symptoms, meanwhile improving the enlargement of mesenteric lymph nodes. This method worth being popularized clinically.
