Objective: By comparing the curative effect of acupuncture combined with acupoint application and simple acupuncture in the treatment of allergic rhinitis, the efficacy and safety of acupuncture combined with acupoint application in the treatment of allergic rhinitis were verified. It provides effective data support and new research direction for clinical application in the future. Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted in 72 subjects who met the criteria of inclusion and exclusion. The subjects were randomly divided into test group and control group, and 36 subjects in each group were divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group was treated with acupuncture combined with acupoint application, and the control group was treated with simple acupuncture. All patients were followed up 1 month after treatment.Using Total Nasal Symptom Score(TNSS),Total non nasal symptom score(TNNSS),Rhinoconjunctivitis quality of life questionnaire(RQLQ)and safety evaluation index as the means of curative effect evaluation, the score changes of each evaluation index before and after treatment and during the follow-up period were compared between the experimental group and the control group,as well as the adverse reactions were observed.Microsoft Excel was used to input the related data and SPSS17.0 software was used to process and analyze the data results. Results: There was no statistical difference in baseline level between the two groups(P>0.05).The evaluation indexes of different periods were compared in the two groups and the curative effect was observed.1.TNSS score results:The scores of the two groups were significantly different before and after treatment(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in the scores between post-treatment and follow-up period(P<0.05).There was significant difference in the total score of curative effect between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05),and there was also significant difference in the total score of the follow-up period between the two groups(P<0.05).2.TNNSS score results:The scores of the two groups were significantly different before and after treatment(P<0.05),there was no statistical difference in the scores of post-treatment and follow-up period in the experimental group(P>0.05),and there were statistical differences in the scores of post-treatment and follow-up period in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the total score of curative effect between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05),and there was no statistical difference between the two groups in the follow-up period(P>0.05).3.RQLQ score results:The scores of the two groups were significantly different before and after treatment(P<0.05),there was no statistical difference in the scores of post-treatment and follow-up period in the experimental group(P>0.05),and there were statistical differences in the scores of post-treatment and follow-up period in the control group(P<0.05).There were significant differences in all dimensions and total scores between the two groups after treatment(P<0.05),and there were significant differences in the total scores between the two groups during the follow-up period(P<0.05).Conclusion: In the treatment of allergic rhinitis, acupuncture combined with acupoint application and simple acupuncture treatment are effective.Acupuncture combined with acupoint application is superior to acupuncture alone in improving nasal symptoms and quality of life, and the curative effect of acupuncture combined with acupoint application in relieving nasal concomitant symptoms is the same between the two groups.Acupuncture combined with acupoint application is safe in treating allergic rhinitis.
