Objective: Through clinical controlled studies,to verify the clinical efficacy of small joint disorder in 5-11 segmental thoracic vertebra and type 2 diabetes(Qi and yin deficiency)on manipulation treatment,To broaden the clinical treatment of type 2 diabetes,Facilitate the in-depth development of clinical research on “Type 2 diabetes from regulate the spine”Methods: Sixty cases who were small joint disorder in 5-11 segmental thoracic vertebra and type 2 diabetes(Qi and yin deficiency)were selected from the first affiliated hospital of guangxi university of traditional Chinese medicine,ren'ai branch of orthopaedics clinic,according to the order of treatment,the patients were divided into observation group(n=30)and control group(n=30)by random number table method.Two groups of patients were treated with basic treatment(basic education,diet control,exercise training)and metformin(specification: 0.5g/pill,batch number: Production batch:H20023370,manufacturer: Bristol-Myers Squibb,medication method: 0.5g/times,3 times daily)treatment,the treatment group(30 patients)on this basis plus Manual treatment twice a day treatment.Both groups were treated for 1 course.The changes of comprehensive clinical efficacy,TCM clinical symptom score,T5-T11 segmental function score and blood glucose related indexes: fasting blood glucose(FPG),postprandial 2h blood glucose(2hPG)and glycosylatedhemoglobin(HbAlc)were observed before and after treatment.Results: 1.After 3 months of treatment,the total effective rate was86.67% in the treatment group and 63.33% in the control group.the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P < 0.05).2.The related indexes of blood glucose in the two groups were improved after treatment: fasting blood glucose,postprandial 2h blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin were decreased in the two groups before and after one course of treatment(P<0.05).After 3 months of treatment,the blood glucose related indexes in the treatment group were better than those in the control group,and there was a significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).3.After 3 months of treatment,the total score of TCM syndromes in both groups was lower than that before treatment(P<0.05).After 3months of treatment,there was significant difference between the treatment group and the metformin tablet control group(P<0.05).4.After treatment,Self-comparison of T5-T11 Segment function evaluation scores in treatment group(P<0.05);but there was no significant difference between he control group(P > 0.05).The results showed that the treatment group could effectively improve the symptoms of 5-11 segments of thoracic vertebrae joint disorder,but the control group had no significant improvement..Conclusion(s): 1.Manipulation treatment of small joint disorder in 5-11 segmental thoracic vertebra and type 2 diabetes(Qi and yin deficiency)can effectively reduce the related indexes of blood glucose(fasting blood glucose,postprandial 2 h blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin value),so the effectiveness of this manipulation can be confirmed.2.Manipulation treatment of small joint disorder in 5-11 segmental thoracic vertebra and type 2 diabetes(Qi and yin deficiency)is more obvious than Metformin alone in improving the clinical symptoms of TCM,and it can recover the dysfunction symptoms of T5-T11 segment in patients at the same time.
