Objective To observe curative effects of external cleansing with Sihuang ointment combined with Shengji powder in the treatment of Ulcer of lower limb.Methods Sixty patients with Ulcer of lower limb admitted into The Jiangsu Second Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine between September 2016 and August 2018 were randomly divided into two groups evenly;a treatment group and a control group.In the treatment group,the wounds of 30 cases were rinsed with Sihuang ointment combined with Shengji powder;while in the control group,the wounds of 30 cases were only rinsed with Ichthammol.The curative effects of both groups were observed.Results The total effective rate in the treatment group was 93.33%,with 8 cases cured,16 cases obviously effective,4 cases effective and 2 cases ineffective,while that in the control group was 90.0%,with 4 cases cured,7 cases obviously effective,16 cases effective and 3 cases ineff'ective,and there was statistically significant difference between two groups,with P<0.01.Conclusion External cleansing withSihuang ointment combined with Shengji powder in the treatment of Ulcer of lower limb can realize satisfyingcurative effects,with the functions of clearing away heat and toxic materials,astringing the wound and promoting the growth of granulation tissues,dispelling wind and arresting itching as well as enriching blood and moistening dryness,deserving to be promoted in clinic.The serum levels of MMP-2 and MMP-9 in patients with lower limb ulcer increased significantly in the early stage of onset,and TIMP-1 decreased significantly.MMP-2 and MMP-9 were highly negatively correlated with TIMP-1.The levels of MMPs decreased and TIMPs increased in the late stage of wound recovery.
