Objective:To investigate the current situation of self-efficacy,self-management behavior and quality of life in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients;to analyze the influence of self-efficacy and self-management behavior on quality of life in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients, and to further explore the self-efficacy of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients. The relationship between self-management behavior and quality of life.Method:A total of 311 patients with type 2 diabetes who were selected from six communities in by means of convenience sampling.Questionnaires were used to fill out the general information questionnaire, the self-efficacy scale of diabetes mellitus, the self-management diabetes mellitus scale and the diabetes-specific quality of life scale.Result:1.The self-efficacy score of T2DM patients was 6.72 ± 1.2.Patients had different levels of self-efficacy in diet management, exercise management, blood glucose management and disease control.2.The self-management score of T2DM patients in the community was 88.42±13.60 with a score of 68.02%which was a moderate level. The drug management and blood processing were better than others, sports management and blood glucose test management below the overall average, patients with good self-management were only 7.7%of the population.3.The score of quality of life of the T2DM patients was 53.05 ± 11.73,the quality of life related to the treatment dimension and the physiological dimension were better, and the quality of life related to the psychological dimension and social relation dimension were poorer.Only 3.2%of the patients with higher quality of life, and 84.9%of the patients were in a moderate level.4.Correlation analysis:There was a positive correlation between self-efficacy and self-management(r = 0.648,P<0.01),a positive correlation between self-efficacy and quality of life(r = 0.292,P<0.01),a positive correlation between self-management and quality of life(r = 0.175,P<0.01)in community T2DM patients.5.Structural equation model:The path coefficients of the four areas of self-efficacy to quality of life were significant(? values were 0.33,0.83,0.64,and 0.72,respectively;P<0.0]);self-efficacy was the mediation of physical activity to the physiological, psychological, and social domains of quality of life. The path coefficients were significant(? values were 0.17,0.30,0.21,P<0.01),and the path coefficients of self-efficacy with foot care management as an intermediary to the quality of life in social areas were significant(?=0.12,P<0.01);Hyperglycemia treatment management was a significant path factor in the four areas of mediation to quality of life(? values were 0.16,0.34,0.30,0.65,respectively,P<0.01).conclusion:1.The self-efficacy and self-management behaviors of patients with T2DM were at a medium level, the exercise management and blood glucose detection were poor.It is necessary to strengthen the exercise and blood glucose detection in order to increase their self-management level.2.The overall quality of life of the community T2DM patients was in the middle level, psychological dimension and social relationship dimensions of the quality of life related were poor, concerning about the psychological problems of the T2DM patients can improve their quality of life.3.Self-efficacy has a direct impact on the quality of life of patients with T2DM;exercise management, management of foot care, and management of hyperglycemia and blood sugar play some intermediate roles in the relationship between self-efficacy and quality of life of patients with T2DM.
