[Objectives] This study aims to explore the status quo of mobile health applications in public hospital out-patient department and the impacts on outpatient experience,in order to further promote the function of mobile health applications,which is the key to improve the rate of penetration,then to give advice on improving outpatient experience.[Methods] In this study,we did a semi-structured interview on eight hospital outpatient mobile health application insiders via content analysis,to acquire the application status,the existing problems and countermeasures and suggestions.We use self-designed Outpatient Experience Questionnaire(OPEQ)to investigate a total of 300 outpatients,to see the influence of mobile medical App on outpatient experience.Descriptive analysis,Single factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used in analyzing the investigation.[Results]The main results of this study are as follows:(1)The main function of mobile health application is online registration,other features are few.Outpatients using mobile medical App accounted for 0.1% to 30%.(2)Appointment registration is with the highest utilization.Age,payment method,degree,residence,family monthly income,visit approach,department,self-valued health condition decided whether patients used mobile medical applications.(3)There was a significant discrepancy of outpatient experience scores between the outpatients with and without using mobile medical applications(P <0.05).The average score of patients taking medical care was 3.81 ± 0.49).The average score of the patients who did not use the mobile health App was(3.59 ± 0.54).(4)The main factor affected the use of mobile medical application outpatient experience is self-valued health education and family monthly income.[Conclusions]The main conclusions of this study are:(1)Mobile health application function is single,mainly concentrated on online registration,and the use of mobile health application is low;(2)The privacy data of mobile health application hasn’t formed an effective supervision;(3)Mobile health application can improve the outpatient experience significantly but the crowd is not extensive;(4)The influence factors of outpatient experience included age,payment method,degree,residence,family monthly income,visit approach,department,self-valued health condition influenced the outpatient experience.The two factors including family monthly income and self-valued health condition,influenced the mobile health applications outpatient experience.
