| Objectives By observing the effect of Shugan Xiaoying Prescription on the maximal diameter of thyroid nodules,clinical symptoms of TCM,thyroid function and other aspects to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Shugan Xiaoying Prescription,and provide clinical basis for the treatment of benign thyroid nodules.Methods According to the randomized controlled study,70 patients meeting the inclusion criteria were divided into treatment group and control group,each group of 35 cases.The treatment group was treated with Shugan Xiaoying Prescription,and the control group was treated with Euthyrox.The observation period is 3 months.The maximum diameter of thyroid nodules,TCM syndrome scores and thyroid function were observed in both groups.The results of data processing and analysis using the statistical software SPSS17.0.Measured data are expressed as x±s,those who meet the normal distribution use the t test,those who do not meet the normal distribution use nonparametric tests.Count data were analyzed using the X2 test,with a statistical difference of P < 0.05.Results In this study,during the course of treatment,there were 5 cases of shedding.The final effective cases were 65 cases,33 cases in the treatment group and 32 cases in the control group.After 3 months of treatment,the results were as follows:1 Analysis on the baseline condition:Before the treatment,the general data of the two groups of patients were statistically analyzed.There was no significant difference in the baseline data of gender,age,duration,the maximum diameter of thyroid nodules,TCM syndrome scores between the two groups(P>0.05).The two groups were actually comparable.2 Comparison of clinical efficacy and Analysis on the maximum diameter of thyroid nodules:The total effective rate was 84.85% in the treatment group and 62.5% in the control group,with significant difference between the two groups(P <0.05),indicating that the total effective rate of the treatment group was significantly better than that of the control group.Within the two groups,the maximum diameter of thyroid nodules after treatment was smaller than that before treatment(P<0.05);between the two groups,the maximum diameter of nodules after treatment in the treatment group was smaller than that of the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).It shows that both Shugan Xiaoying Prescription and Euthyrox can reduce the nodules,but the effect of Shugan Xiaoying Prescription is more obvious.3 Comparison of TCM syndromes efficacy and Analysis on the TCM syndrome scores:The total effective rate of TCM syndromes in the treatment group was 93.94%,compared with 65.6% in the control group.There was a statistically significant difference between the two groups(P<0.05).Within the two groups,the scores of TCM syndromes after treatment were lower than those before treatment(P<0.05).Compared with the two groups,TCM syndrome scores in the treatment group decreased more than the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results showed that both Shugan Xiaoying Prescription and Euthyrox can improve the clinical symptoms of the patients,while the effect of Shugan Xiaoying Prescription was more significant.4 Comparison of thyroid function:Thyroid function in both groups before and after treatment were in the normal range,no significant difference(P> 0.05).5 Adverse reactions:There were no abnormalities in blood,urine and routine before and after treatment in both groups.All of them were within the normal range.Gastrointestinal discomfort,such as nausea and vomiting,Itchy skin allergies and other adverse reactions.Conclusions 1 Shugan Xiaoying Prescription has a good effect in treating benign thyroidnodules and can reduce the volume of thyroid nodules.2 Shugan Xiaoying Prescription can significantly improve the benign thyroid nodules in patients with symptoms and signs of traditional Chinese medicine.3 Shugan Xiaoying Prescription will not cause thyroid function changes in patients with good safety and it is worth further study. |
