He Study Of Fire Needling And Acupuncture In Treating Chonic Eczema Guided By The Tonifying Spleen Yang

Objective:To observe the efficacy of fire needling and acupuncture in treating chronic eczema and the advantages compared with western medicine;to observe the essential pathogenesis of chronic eczema and to further summarize the experiences of tonifying spleen Yang in treating chronic eczema.Methods:This study is an observational study.First,30 patients treated with fire needling and acupuncture were assigned to group A and 30 patients using monetasone furoate+ loratadine were assigned to group B.Then the Visual Analog Scale(VAS),Eczema Area and Severity Index Score(EASI)and Dermatology Quality of Life Scale(DLQI)of each patient were observed and recorded before and 4weeks after the treatment.Last,all the data was collected to undergo statistical analysis.Results:The differences between two groups of patients,in terms of age,gender,duration of eczema,the lesion area and severity,intensity of pruritus and quality of life,were not statistically significant(P>0.05).The two groups of patients therefore were comparable.In the two groups before and after treatment EASI,VAS,DLQI score by paired sample test,all P < 0.05,two methods of treatment in patients with lowered EASI,VAS,DLQI score is effective.In terms of EASI Score,for group A,The cure rate was 6.67%,the markedly effective rate was 40.00%,the improvement rate was 46.67%,the total effective rate was 93.34%.For group B,The cure rate was 3.33%,the markedly effective rate was 16.67%,the improvement rate was 70.00%,the total effective rate was 90.00%.The average effective rates of EASI in group A and group B were0.550±0.216 and 0.422±0.240.The independent sample test P=0.033 which P<0.05,two groups of EASI improvement rate was statistically significant.It shows that fire needling combined with acupuncture is superior to western medicine in improving the EASI rate while the cure rate and markedly effective rate are both higher than western medicine.In terms of VAS,for group A,1 case cured,16 cases markedly effective,13 cases improved and 0 case ineffective.The total effective rate was 100%.The cure rate was 3.33%,the markedly effective rate was 53.33%,the improvement rate was 43.33%.For group B,1 case cured,8 cases markedly effective,20 cases improved and 1 case ineffective.The total effective rate was 96.67%.The cure rate was 3.33%,the markedly effective rate was 26.67%,the improvement rate was 66.67%.The average improvement rates of VAS in group A and group B were0.615±0.166,0.503±0.223.The independent sample test P=0.032 which P<0.05.VAS improvement rate between the two groups was statistically significant,indicating that fire needling and acupuncture in the improvement rate of VAS is better than Western medicine,and markedly higher efficiency than Western medicine.Conclusion:The effectiveness of fire needling combined with acupuncture guided by the theory of tonifying spleen Yang is similar to mometasone furoate cream combined with loratadine in treating chronic eczema while the former treatment is more effective in improving pruritus for patients.
