| Chronic hand eczema is one of the most common chronic eczema, which is known as "E Zhang Feng" and "Wo Chuang" in the Traditional Chinese Medicine. CHE often starts from the dorsum and palm of the finger, and can spread to the dorsum of the hand and the wrist, even the palm side. It is characterized by boundary blurring, infiltration and hypertrophy. The skin often chapped due to the movement of the fingers. CHE will often relapse, and it is difficult to cure, because the hands are often exposed to all kinds of external material, combined with a more or less cleaning every day. More seriously, its exposure to the outside will bring a lot of psychological burden to the patients. Glucocorticoids, immune modulators, horny contributed agents or exfoliating agents, emollients and antihistamines are commonly used at present. Although these drugs can achieve some effect, but CHE often relapsed after stopping medication, and the efficacy is gradually reduced because of the repeated use for a long-term. Traditional Chinese medicine has its own unique advantages in the treatment of chronic eczema:In oral medication, according to the specific circumstances of patients with syndrome differentiation, to achieve the purpose of individual treatment;and in external use medicine, a lot of new drugs can be developed by different formulations, which can not only improve the clinical efficacy, but also reduce the incidence of drug resistance. This research focus on treatment 25 patients of CHE of blood deficiency and wind dryness syndrome by combing Wu Fu Qu Shi Ointment with Jian Pi Yang Xue granules. The goal is to to provide more effective prescription and topical ointment for the treatment of CHE.ObjectiveObserve the clinical effectiveness of combine Wu Fu Qu Shi Ointment with Jian Pi Yang Xue granules in treating chronic hand eczema of blood deficiency and wind dryness syndrome.MethodThis research used before and after self control study.25 patients were given Wu Fu Qu Shi Ointment(ext bid) and Jian Pi Yang Xue granules(po bid). The group has treatment schedule set for 4 weeks. The scores of HESCI, pruritus and pain recorded at the time point of before treatment,2 weeks into treatment and treatment completion. The adverse drug reaction was also recorded in detail.ResultThere are 1 patient was excluded due to discomfort feeling such as hot and numbness. The incidence of adverse reactions was 3.85%. The remaining 25 patients completing the study did not appear adverse reactions.Among 25 cases of CHE patients, male occupied 72.0% of total specimen, and female patients occupied 28.0%.40.0% of total patients were between age 31 to 40 and 32.0% of total patients were between age 18 to 30. The course of disease were between 2 months to 10 years, with average course of disease of 2.78±3.01 years. Patients with family history of allergic disease occupied 8.% of total specimen, and patients with personal allergic disease history or food/drug allergy occupied 32.0% of total specimen.By comparison the total score of HECSI before and after treatment, we could find significant differences(P< 0.5). The total effective rate was 76.0% in the treatment of objective symptoms. There were significant differences in the score of pruritus and pain before and after treatment (P< 0.05). The total effective rate was 88.0% in the treatment of pruritus and 100% in that of pain.ConclusionWu Fu Qu Shi Ointment combine with Jian Pi Yang Xue granules was effective in treating hand chronic eczema. This therapy had a prominent effect on the relief of itching and pain, and it is worthy of further study. |
