ObjectiveThe study is based on the acupuncture combined with TCM periodic therapy for qi stagnation and blood stasis type of primary dysmenorrhea in clinical observation,to seek the optimal method of acupuncture for the disease, for clinical acupuncture treatment of primary dysmenorrhea to provide certain theoretical basis and clinical train of thought.MethodsSixty patients met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of primary dysmenorrhea were divided into control group and treatment group randomly,30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with the regular treatment, while the treatment group was given acupuncture combined with TCM periodic therapy. All the patients began in the first day of dysmenorrhea for two menstrual cycle and followed up in the third months after the treatment. The scores of Chinese medical symptoms,VAS and CMSS were compared between the two group, before the treatment and after one menstrual cycle, two menstrual cycle, and the third months after the treatment followed up.At the same time evaluate the clinical short-term and long-term curative effect of the two treating methods.Results1.Comparing the scores of Chinese medical symptoms,VAS and CMSS before the treatment, after one menstrual cycle, two menstrual cycle, and in the third months after the treatment follow-up,there was a statistical significance(P<0.01),and the scores were obviously lower than before the treatment, showing that the both therapy can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms, shorten the onset time and lowering the severity degree of primary dysmenorrhea.2.After one menstrual cycles of treatment, the difference about the scores of Chinese medical symptoms,VAS and CMSS between the two groups was not considerably significant(P>0.05),showing that the two therapy have no difference in treating primary dysmenorrhea at the beginning. After two menstrual cycles of treatment and and in the third months after the treatment follow-up,the difference about the scores of Chinese medical symptoms,VAS and CMSS between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.01),showing that the treating with acupuncture combined with TCM periodic therapy have both better clinical short-term and long-term effect than with the regular treatment for qi stagnation and blood stasis type of primary dysmenorrhea.3.The short-term and long-term effective rate of the treatment group was 93.33%,86.67%,respectively after two menstrual cycles of treatment and in the third months after the treatment follow-up of the score of Chinese medical symptoms, while the control group was 86.67%,66.67%.The above groups have considerable difference by rank sum test(P<0.05),showing that the treating with acupuncture combined with TCM periodic therapy have both better clinical short-term and long-term curative effect than with the regular treatment for qi stagnation and blood stasis type of primary dysmenorrhea.ConclusionAcupuncture periodic therapy has a good effect for qi stagnation and blood stasis type of primary dysmenorrhea, which can improve the clinical symptoms of dysmenorrhea. It has both better clinical short-term and longterm curative effect than the regular treatment, thus is worth clinical promotion.
